This is my 88 6000 STE that I am rebuilding/customizing. Some things that I am doing are:
Replacing 88 2.8l with an 86 2.8l eng - has a crane cam and accel ignition.
Replacing 4 speed auto trans w/ muncie 5 speed manual.
Custom functional hood scoop w/ custom K&N intake.
Fuel cell in trunk and moved fuel filler neck to decklid.
MSD fuel pump.
Autometer pro-comp fuel pressure gauge mounted on hood.
Modified factory rear air suspension so shocks are isolated from each other when they are not being raised or lowered. (help keep body roll down when cornering.) Raising or lowering is now controled manually by switch on dash. Air pressure gauges for both shocks are mounted in flip down ash tray.
Replaced battery w/ optima and relocated it to the trunk. Installed emergency remote battery disconnect.
Edlebrock crome valve covers.
2 Dual hedman headers exhaust tips.
Centerforce dual friction clutch.
Door to trunk from inside car that is motorized.
Removed lock cylander/ ignition switch from steering column. Used aircraft style switches on dash to control ignition circuits and a "start eng" switch to crank the motor.
More coming.
Yes, people have asked me why and told me I have too much time on my hands but I like doing this so enjoy the pics.

One rare thing about this car is that it has a power seat memory switch for the driver's seat.

I started by dismantling the car inside/out and rolled the body on its side to repair various holes in the bottom of the body.
Once I finnished cutting out rust and welding in new metal I removed the paint and surface rust from the bottom of the car.

Once the bottom was painted I ran new brake and fuel lines. You can also see the rear suspension reinstalled in this pic.
Some pics of the rear suspension before I put it back on the car.

With the majority of my work done underneath the car I rolled it back down and started cleaning up the engine compartment.

I am putting in a mucie 5 speed manual transmission instead of the 4 speed auto that was in it. This pic shows the clutch master cyl mounted to the firewall.

Engine compartment after running the brake lines to the master cyl. The engine cradle and rack & pinion are also back on the car.

Front suspension and brakes back on car.
Functional hood scoop after tack welding in place, then primered and in the process of body work.
Body of car cleaned to bare metal, then after primer and flat black paint.
Fuel cell beside mounting bracket that I am mounting in the spare tire well in the trunk. Fuel cell test fitted. I had to cut out the front corners of the spare tire well to fit the fuel cell.

Fuel filler neck moved to trunk deck.

Interior floor after paint.
