This car has a lot of history. It was my Dad’s High School rod, bought it in 1971 for for 250.00 from his Great Aunt who was the original owner. Original engine was a 260ci with a two speed Ford'O'Matic. Lucky me got it for my 19th. Birthday, I have been wanting this car since I was a kid.
These pictures were taken back in 1977.
My Dad built the engine in his Grandmothers Garage in like 1975 or 76. It is a 289 with TRW 10.5:1 pistons,Crane Fireball Series cam, Eldebrock Torker, 600cfm Holley, full length Hedmans, Accel BEI electronic ignition, flex fan, stock heads, C-4 with B&M shift kit, Hurst Slap stick, 4:11 in the rear, cut coils in front, heavy sway bars all around and Gabriel Adjustable E's, steering column and gear box out of a 68 Mustang, removed the power steering and went with a manual set up. It is a hard running little 289, rev's like hell and will break the tires loose shifting into third. My Dad called it a crotch rocket.
This picture was taken in 1975 or 76 just after the engine was put in. Say's he built it all for just around 2200.00 including the suspension.
We actually have four Falcons in our family.
