rottisnot's 1997 Saab 900

"The Gryphon" is:

1997 SAAB 900se turbo convertible,
Triple black,
16" Viking tri-spoke wheels,
Pirelli P-Zero Nero (& Gislavd for winter) tires,
Silverstar bulbs all around,
SAAB Sport exhaust,
K&N air filter,
Zimmerman cross drilled brakes (edges and calipers painted red),
EBC greenstuff brake pads,
Sliding armrest,
Door pocket cup holders,
Center console cup/change holder,
Black pearl 9-3 grille,
GT Factory Diablo door hinges,
SAAB high profile bridge spoiler,
Mostly de-badged,
Chrome bumper strips removed,
Smoked side indicators (now removed),
Tinted windows,
SAAB wind blocker,
Burl wood dash,
Smoked taillights,
Custom black/chrome badges,
ejector seat button graphic for pass side,
headlamp brows,
9-3 sport rocker moldings,
viggen crossflow intercooler,
led side indicators in wing mirrors,
antenna control switch,
switchblade style key
Custom Saab emblems- front and side black background, rear Swedish flag background,
Intrax lowering springs (waiting for Konis before install)

"The Gryphon" needs:

Viggen steering brace kit (VRK),
Reflective black "Gryphon" and Porsche style "turbo" vinyl on rear decklid,
front seats recovered to Viggen style
viggen blue/ black door cards,

I'm sure I've forgotten something, well probably a LOT of things, either that I've done or want to do, will add when the brain fart passes.

Mainly I want to keep the car to the Gryphon theme, eagle like front, lion rear.

Please Rate my Ride! I don't know what happened- I had 4 and 5 stars in all categories, now they're all back to 3 average stars. I'm rating below non-existant cars. That sucks! Feel free to leave message in guestbook, I get back to them when I can. Thanks~

my smart fortwo has joined the herd! She arrived 2 weeks ago to much fanfare at the Annapolis smart center. She has been Christened meep meep. Will add pics shortly. It is the rainy season and the garage is stuffed with crap from the office that closed in February. Yay! I'm unemployed! Now that I have time to work on the children I have no money. Need to find installer for Avic D3 system since I ordered it without a radio. If I like it well enough, may be installing one in the Gryphon.

Bear760-> lol, no the ejector seat button doesn't really work- I just hate blackout buttons and a passenger is infamous for jumping in and immediately hitting the seat heater button- even if it's in the 90's with the top down- so thought I would mess with them a bit. The black and silver were decals/stickers that I got from someone on the SAAB forums a while back. Tried 3 times to get them right to no avail. They were supposed to just stick on over the original badges, but they didn't lay right and I wanted them "protected" so I tried water based acrylic clear which caused the metallic to crackle and look like ass and seeped below the sticker making permanent waves. Also tried just sticking them on over original badge like instructed- they didn't stick tight enough and the front one flapped in the wind while driving and moved around too much when warm. Went with the enamel aftermarket custom badges from a UK eBay seller.

saabviggen-> Thanks, anytime, I'll try to help

rc89pl-> I didn't use the nite shades on the headlamps, I DID paint the non-essential reflective trim that did not reflect at the front to add "squintiness" to the headlamps. Did it on a whim when I was cleaning the headlamp glass. For the tails, 3 coats of clear, yes, as you stated. The centercaps were decals that I did myself- couldn't get the matching badges to look right so found the cloisonne (sp?) ones on eBay from a place in the UK. Original Vikings ROCK!
