THE FINAL LAP

Yea so I also decided I didnt like the wiring Jeep did at the factory, so i thought I could do better. i toosed out the old shit and rewired It to my liking. Im a fawking idiot. I opened up a can of worms that I still cannot close. I dont recomend doing this unless you have the tools, time and patience.
i also decided I didnt like the YJ dash. I thought I could do better. Yea - OK, got a CJ dash for a 6 pack, and refinished it. I still am working out the kinks like how to defrost the windshield, how to turn on the heater, etc. I have about 6 weeks to figure this out, winter is coming.

I also added an electric fan. Got it out of a junked out Ford Taurus. Had to figure out the wiring etc, but luckily this is a popular mod so there was plenty of info about this. The pic is of the 2 relays needed to run the Taurus fan rhe way i wanted to.

I had to rplace the windshield frame, it was shot. Rust won here, but nothing can hold down el guapo for long, especially thanks to theavailability of aftermarket window frames. i had to do this swap myself, not so bad, I heard the CJ windshield is really tough.

The Jeep is now drivable. its going to be Dukes of Hazzard orange when im done tinkering. I still need a bigger bore MC, Ill get the 69 Vette MC to give me a more confident feeling in the brakes... The steering is hairy. Very loose, dont feel comfortable going over 30. Very touchy, still needs a damper. The wiring isnt quite done either. yes everything works, but I have a drain on the battery. Figured out which circuit its in, but havent found the cause. I have to pull a fuse when I shut it off. Might need to move my rear shock mounts, they are at a 45 degree angle which is doing very little dampening, I think thats part of the reason its so squirrely. Anyway As of Sept 1, this is the wasy things are, school is in, I dont have the time I had, so I dont know when Ill be completly finished. Its a "when I have the time" project now. Ill post more pics as I do more work. Thanks for visiting.
