On the left was my 87 YJ. And On the right is the way it is now. I spent all summer, roughy 700 hours rebuilding it. Its still needs some tweaking, but its basically done. Needs paint, alignment, etc...
It was fine before except I ws slowly losing the battle with rust. My floors were shot, I couldnt really go wheeling too much 'cause the frame was also being eaten alive. So I decided to dump all my savings and summer into this heap. Now its a beast. It doesnt look legal or safe, but it is - legal. im not really convinced its safe yet. I mean I know I torqued everyting down tight, but still, when you take on something this large, and then plan to go 80 down the highway in it, its pretty daunting. it will be a while before i bring it on the highway.
Here are some pics of the summer fun...
