Battery Tray Removal
The ugliest part of the engine bay has got to be the rusted battery tray. I won't need the tray anymore because I'll be installing a FMIC kit, and moving the battery to the truck for a better weight distribution.
This is will give you a general idea on how I went about doing this...
Here is the battery tray, or whats left of it.

Using a cheap grinder I had laying around, I started by cutting off the end piece.

I then cut the tray into smaller sections. This will make it easier by working on smaller pieces, rather than try to pull the entire tray off in one whole piece.

I then took a cordless drill, and drilled out the spot welds the best I could. Here is a diagram I made for a buddy who was doing the same thing. I numbered just about all the spots welds that is holding the tray in place. Some of these will easily break free, but some will need to be drilled.

This is what was found when the last piece was pulled. I used the grinder to clean up any of the sharp edges left behind.

This is what was left of the tray...

After a few minutes of cleaning up the area, it already looked 100% better. I had to cut out an odd shaped hole to remove any additional rust caused by the tray. This hole will be fixed when I figure out where the IC piping will need to be.

After I completely sanded the area and cleaned it up, I put down a few coats of primer. I bought some paint that almost matched the OEM Ivory White my car has, so I used this area to test the color. The color is pretty close, so the next step is doing the entire engine bay.
