1984 PONTIAC FIERO INDY 2.5L 4-SPEED MANUAL

redraifs 1984 Pontiac Fiero

So what I have read about these cars...2000 were schedualed to be made in 1984...only 1500 were produced.  Basically the car is an SE model.  Specific to the Indy package was a body trim that was to be introduced in the 85 model as the GT:  Consisting of different bumpers & GFX, white body with grey and red accents, white wheels, unique badging, and red & grey interiors.

My Indy was neglected & inoperable when I bought it.  The original paint had been covered over by a HORRIBLE rattle can job.  The grey and red trim was replaced with black.  If you did not know the Indy, you would have had no idea.  It has been a slow process on putting it back to a reliable running state.  The previous owner cut a lot of corners in the car's care and maintenance.  As you follow the pages of the website, it will be a history of what it took to get the car where it is presently.  I'm VERY behind on the site, but will be adding the upgrades & repairs.  In the end it will all be in the order it was tackled.  The main page will have the only directory and will likely be out of whack for a while as I update and maneuver things about.

Updates:

2-22-12: Working on the site again.  Slow going as I want to add my mechanical log first then on to the recent stuff.

2-20-12: Gathering parts for the Indy's updated look... staying modified for now!  Got spare interior parts to modify.  Working on getting the body parts to mod.  Talking to venders to get my purchase list in order.  Fenders, quarters, hood, decklid, interior and headlights will all get an overhaul.

Dec 2011:  The little Indy has be chosen to be pictured in 2 calendars... Guess my pictures came out decent enough... now to get the car to look that good in person!  Guess I will be learning to paint soon!

10-24-11: Car's lowering is all wrapped up... just need an alignment and at some point to go back in and cut down the front bump stops.

I think the red ring on the lip needs to be swapped to a white one that will show up better...What do you think?

Ok I went to Atlanta Motor Speedway and got some better shots...

I hate to tell you but Ive been accumulating a list of Indy Fiero VIN numbers and it was almost a perfect 50% to 50% split between the automatics and standards.
If you need any help locating parts let me know I have many contacts.
Good luck
Mike
