Sub Box and Amp Rack
I bought a JL Audio 12W6V2 so I needed a box that was 1.25 cubic feet. Mine came out to be 1.295 cubic feet. I used 3/4" MDF and made a double face for less box vibrations and more stiffness. The front face is only 15"x15".
I've never seen anyone mount amps like this so I thought I'd give it a shot. It's a double rack that's only 17" wide.
I wanted to still be able to put big things in my trunk so I didnt want the sub to be bolted down. I came up with an easy way to secure my sub box and still make it hard to steal (I hope it never happens). I make a tab that was screwed to the box and an accepter block that was screwed to my new wooden floor.
They will be held together with a single allen head bolt. See my Final Resutls page to see how it works. Here are pics of the parts close up.
Here's the box and rack carpeted.
