stages of development

this baja bug began its life with me and my dad in august 2001. my grandparents were selling there home so me and my dad offered a helping hand. me and my dad went out in their orchard to look around when there it was. it had been sitting in the orchard for 14 years but we instantly fell in love with it. it was an eyesore at first that didnt even run but we soon began working on it.
It needed a lot of work but we soon started working on it and now we have a blast with it. some of the first things we had to fix were change it to an electric fuel pump because the mechanical one was shot. after that we put all new brakes and wheel kits all around.the rear tires were sun cracked and no good. we put some 31x10.50x15 inch cooper cobras on it and drove it home.
when we got it home we found even more problems. after we rebuilt the carb it went out and we got a whole new one. after that we had to quit that hobby for a while but now after a year and a half we have it running better than it ever has.
a few months ago we blew the tranny so we replaced that in less than one day! we were amazed at how easy that was because we had never had the engine off and it was as easy as we heard.
Once we fixed the tranny we decided to upgrade the suspension to coilovers in the back and kyb gas-a-just in the front.to go along with the tranny and shocks we added 31x10.50x15 bfg mudders. thats all for now but we have lots more to do.
