I thought I was done for modding (for now at least until I get out of college) now that I have added the SS Hood and Ram Air Intake. But I went ahead and did Headers w/ a Y-Pipe and a ported 58mm throttle body, which were my most recent mods. As you all know, the LT-1 has a very restrictive exhaust system. So I got one hell of a gain along w/ my Borla system! Video is on page 1. It is LOUD!! You can hear it like a mile away and its even worse with no cats and when your engine runs rich. The borla sound is heard at lower RPM's but the minute you stomp on the accelerator its header madness!

More mods means more money, and a cam for example will drain your gas mileage and make your car less streetable. A good head and cam package with install will run you $2,500 if you wanna keep the car at least partially streetable. It isn't even a car that you can drive normally every day, I'd rather have something that I'm not using JUST for racing. My gas mileage is already pretty bad, I definitely don't want to make it any worse. My car also only has 60K miles on it and I am going to keep it that way. I've only put 23K Miles on it in the past 3 and 1/2 years. With 3.73 gear ratios and an automatic you run 3000RPM at 80MPH. That isn't too bad. But imagine doing a road trip at that constant speed... With the engine that reved out, the gas mileage turns to 14mpg. Before with my stock 2.73 gear ratios I was probably running low 2's for RPM. 6 speeds do come in handy with that 6th highway gear cuz I don't hit the 4th overdrive gear until you are going over 100... So I guess you can could say one of my wanted mods is a 6 speed lol.
