CUSTOM '52 FORD F1 PROJECT

52FORDPICKUP's 1952 Ford F-Series Pick-Up

Here's how the truck started out!!!
It has been sitting in this building w/ a bunch of junk for about 30 years, so I decided to clean out all the junk and start to rebuild this truck.

After purchasing a small 10 gallon sandblaster I set out to destroy all the paint and rust that was eating away at my sheetmetal. The difference was amazing and it all came off so easily!! Just if the entire project would go this easy!

Here is the original frame as we were disassembling the truck. I took it to a local shop and sandblasted it and had everything powder coated semi-gloss black.

I just recently purchased an Eastwood at home powder coating system and have a long list of suspension items to sandblast and powder coat. I had my Mustang II stock suspension being powdercoated at the same place that did my frame. Here are some of the parts I am using to build my front suspension. Check page 2 for some of my parts coated.

Mustang II Front Clip and Explorer Rear End. Rear end was painted using Eastwood Company's Chassis black spray cans.

Ford C4 Transmission ($75 at a swap meet, w/ a new shift kit in it) Definately a steal!!

I HAVE TONS OF PICTURES OF THIS PROJECT JUST GIVE ME SOME TIME TO GET SOME MORE UP!! CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR UPDATES!!

List of information about restoration:
-1978 Ford 300 Straight 6 Motor with headers, a Clifford Intake, Clifford Cam, aluminum pistons and a Holley 600CFM carb.
-Rear end from a 1996 Ford Explorer w/ disc brakes and 3.55 gear ratio all painted black to match the frame.
-I recently purchased a front clip from a Mustang II and I am getting a big brake upgrade w/ 2" drop spindles to lower the stance a little.
-Since this truck didn't come w/ a sheetmetal bed and I am doing an intership with a local sheetmetal fabrication shop, I designed my own which I am going to have finished for under $350! Beats paying prices of NOS peices!!!
-Since I have had a little experience with fiberglass, I am going to try and cut out the dash and do a complete custom dash out of fiberglass, which will all flow together into a center console, with gauges, cd player, and controls for various toys.

CHECK BACK SOON FOR MORE PICS AND INFO!!!!

probably not much use tellin you now but we found our 47 cab could bolt straight on a <75> f100 chassis. so how much work is it to get the mustang stuff onto that chassis. have you got a pic or reference for a pic of what yo want it to look like? oh well sooner you get it done sooner we can go out and eat up some of those noisy assed rice rockets!!!!

hey, good luck with your F1. I have a 54 F100 that is just about done. I still have to do the interior. I like what you have done with the powder coating and the MII IFS, I used the Heidts MII kit on my truck. Good luck and I hope to see a great truck when your done. Check mine out and see what ya think. Later, Tucker
