Well, on 1/20/06 my transmission died. I located one in AZ for $10 that also came with a short block engine. Some good parts there, but thats another project.

Pictured above is of a bearing support for a shaft in the transmission. It broke out.

2/12/06 Below are some pics of the latest work:

Here I have removed the tranny and am get the engine ready to pull.

Above and below pictures are just after the engine came out. It's filthy! I'm gonna clean all that up.

The rusty image above is of the front 'rail' of the unibody structure. This area supports the transmission below it, and the battery above it. I'll pay extra attention to that area when I clean and strip the bay.

I'll be cleaning everything I can. The steering rack and pinion unit will be replaced and the K frame (sub frame) will be coming out for cleaning and inspection.
I will remove, inspect and repair any wiring harness issues. Then I'll rewrap them with e-tape and friction tape. Any wires in high temp area's will be heatshielded. Then they'll be shiethed in corrugated wire loom stuff.
The fire wall, forward cabin floor, inner fenders and fenderwells will be coated with rubberized undercoating for protection and sound insulation.

Some of the parts I have ordered are:

Energy Suspension control arm bushings.

KYB GR2 gas struts, and strut mount plates with steering bearings.

Moog balljoints and tierod ends.

And Energy Suspension tierod boots.

All of the above items were purchased from FWD Performance

I also ordered a new steering rack & pinion unit.

Here's a picture of the growing parts pile.
