The car was purchased from the original owner in 1997 with about 70,000 New York miles. (winters and all) It was in rough shape at that time, the drivers side was rusted out, the cookie cutter wheels worn and pitted, and the engine was tired.
I drive it during the summers and put it away during the winters. The next year I started replacing worn out parts.

Radiator and water pump was first, I cleaned up the wheels and got the body fixed with new metal and paint. The next year the cam belts needed replacing. A good tune up, an exhaust header, and a different throttle cam made a big difference.
I drove the car like that untill 2003 when I got new tires and phone dial style wheels.

In 2004 I decided to make some big changes. I completly went through the car and replaced or repaired everything. New brake and gas lines, brake calipers all around with drilled rotors, complety rebuilt front and rear suspension useing KYB shocks and struts, a Bursche exhaust system from the CAT back, 17inch tires and Porsche Turbo style wheels, new tranny and motor mounts, clutch and shifter. Inside I needed to cover the cracked dash with a new dash cap, replace the steering wheel with a new MOMO wheel, and lay down some Porsche floor mats and aluminum pedals. I installed a radio with Kenwood speakers and sub woofer.

I totally changed the outside appearance with the addition of a GT-Racing front bumper, side rockers, and rear valance.

I also changed the rear bumper and had everything molded into the body to make it look smooth.

I painted the car the original color wich is saffire. The next photos are just after the car was painted. The emblems still must be put on but the paint needs some time to harden first.

I'll go over the entire car in about 3 weeks and polish it to a beautiful shine. In the meantime I'll detail the motor and clean up any overspray.

I still want to update the interior with some new seats and carpet in the front and rear.
All in all I think the car came out just great. It's a head turner thats for sure, and there are not that many 944's around that look like it so that makes it quite unique.

The next page has a few more pictures of the car.
