I had been looking for a T/A for some time, ideally a 77 or 78.
Nothing I looked at fitted the bill until a friend told me about one his Dad owned.
It had been imported into England in 1990, by 1992 it had a gearbox failure and was wheeled into storage where it was left until 2000 when it was wheeled out to fire it up, run for 10 mins then shut down and locked up again.
Though the car was in very good condition, the carpets had been damp when stored and the floors rusted through.
So apart from a little welding, a dead autobox and the fact it had not run in 5 years and not moved under it's own power for 13 years.
I bought it unseen.
I sourced a good TH350 box and converter and also a set of Snowflakes to replace the Crager S/S wheels.
After some preping, the engine was ready to be spun over for the first time in several years, it soon fired up and settled down to a healthy rumble.
When stripping out the interior ready for the welding I found the build sheet in the back of the rear seat upright.
