-MACINDASH
This has to be my crowning glory of projects. This went from research to reality in about 6 months. The system setup is as follows:
-Apple Mac Mini desktop computer
-Mechatroniks modified Lilliput VGA touchscreen
-Clarion ProAudio head unit
-Edirol external soundcard
-Carnetix CNX-P1900 DC regulator
-GlobalSat USB GPS reciever
-Various hubs, cords, software, small accessories, etc.
Capabilities:
-Dual operating systems. (Mac OS X and Windows XP Pro)
-iGuidance GPS Navigation.(Day and Night perspective view modes)
-Multimedia. (Audio/Video via iTunes and QuickTime, plays through soundcard and Clarion)
-Performance research. (Tari Racing Software's free ecuExplorer program)
Finally got ECU diagnostics and datalogging working. My AccessPort cord makes an excellent interface (diagnostic port to 9-pin serial). The software does realtime display and *.dat file logging of values from any sensors monitored through either OBD-II or SSM (Subaru specific) diagnostic profiles. Should be great for racing research. I'll post some pics eventually, if it's ever anything worth looking at. Maybe some sweet 3-axis Excel plots.
-Soon to come: Video capture, Bluetooth speakerphone.
Installation:
Some wretched little shit stole my ash tray, but that gave me a good break in space management for my installation. The Mac itself is now installed securely in its place. This shot also shows my mini keyboard and combo stylus.
You may ask, if the Mac went there, where did my DC outlet go? To the glovebox, of course, along with an integrated 4 port USB hub.
More installation and action shots to come when I have more time.
