THIS IS MY 1969 CAMARO THAT I BOUGHT IN 2004. I BOUGHT IT PAINTED WITH A SMALL BLOCK, RALLY WHEELS AND 4-WHEEL DRUM BRAKES, 4-SPEED TRANNY AND A 10 BOLT REAR END. THIS CAR IS A FACTORY V-8 CAR WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND FACTORY HUGGER ORANGE CAR, BUT IT HAS BEEN REPAINTED THE ORIGINAL COLOR.

CURRENTLY THE CAR HAS A BUILT 454 FULL ROLLER MOTOR WITH A T-56 6-SPEED TRANNY, 12 BOLT POSI WITH 3:73 GEARS. I INSTALLED A HEIDTS 2" DROP SPINDLE WITH A 2" DROP SPRING IN FRONT WITH C6 CORVETTE ROTORS AND C5 CALIPERS AND A BILLET HUB. ON THE REAR I HAVE LS1 CAMARO REAR DISC BRAKES. I HAVE A HOTCHKIS 1.5" DROP LEAF SPRING KIT ALONG WITH A BELL TECH 1" DROP BLOCK (2.5" DROP TOTAL IN THE REAR). THE WHEELS ARE 20 x 9 IROC WHEELS WITH 245-30-20" NITTO TIRES IN THE FRONT AND 275-30-20" NITTO TIRES IN THE REAR.

UPDATED 8-8-05 I BOUGHT A 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION OUT OF A 1997 TRANS AM THAT I AM CURRENTLY INSTALLING. I WILL BE POSTING THE TRANSMISSION INSTALL SOON.

UPDATED 11-4-05 WELL I FINALLY FINISHED THE 6-SPEED INSTALL, IT TOOK 3-MONTHS TO DO IT BUT IT'S FINALLY DONE. I WAS THINKING ABOUT 4:11 GEARS.

UPDATED 11-28-05 I BOUGHT SOME REAR 12-INCH DISC BRAKES OFF OF A 2001 CAMARO SS. THEY SHOULD BOLT RIGHT ON.

UPDATED 1-17-06 I AM ALMOST DONE DOING THE REAR DISC BRAKES, IT WAS ALMOST A DIRECT BOLT ON. SINCE THE 1'ST GENERATION CAMAROS HAVE THE REAR SHOCKS STAGGERED I HAD TO PURCHASE 2- DRIVER SIDE REAR BRACKETS TO MAKE THE CALIPERS STAGGERED AS WELL. ALL I NEED TO DO NOW IS TO CLEAN UP THE BRACKETS AND CALIPERS AND PAINT THEM AND FIGURE OUT THE BRAKE LINE PART OF IT. I AM INTO THIS REAR DISC BRAKE SWAP $260.00 NOT BAD, NOW I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT THE FRONT C5 CORVETTE BRAKES FOR THE FRONT.

UPDATED 1-19-06 I CLEANED AND PAINTED THE REAR CALIPERS AND BRACKETS, ALMOST COMPLETE, STILL NEED TO DO THE BRAKE LINES AND PARKING BRAKE.

UPDATED 2-14-06 I FINISHED THE REAR DISC BRAKES AND LOWERED THE REAR 1 MORE INCH, WHICH IS A TOTAL OF 2.5 INCH DROP IN THE REAR. I ALSO ORDERED THE FRONT DISC BRAKES TODAY, I WENT WITH THE C5 CORVETTE CALIPER AND THE C6 CORVETTE 13.39 INCH ROTOR

UPDATED 2-22-06 MY NEW FRONT C5, C6 BRAKES ARRIVED.

UPDATED 3-22-06 I INSTALLED MY NEW HEIDTS 2-INCH DROP SPINDLE.

UPDATED 3-23-06 I INSTALLED MY BILLET HUB AND 13.39-INCH ROTOR, BUT I AM WAITING FOR A SPACER TO INSTALL THE CALIPERS.

UPDATED 3-27-06 I HOOKED UP THE STEERING UP FRONT AND TRIED TO TURN THE WHEELS AND THEY RUBBED THE FENDERS. SO I HAVE TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT, MAYBE RAISE THE FRONT 1/2 AN INCH AND PUT A LOWER PROFILE TIRE UP FRONT.

UPDATED 3-28-06 I INSTALLED MY FRONT CALIPERS, SO THE FRONT BRAKES ARE COMPLETE EXCEPT FOR THE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER.

UPDATED 4-7-06 I BOUGHT A SHORTER FRONT TIRE, 245-30-20, IT IS ABOUT 1-INCH SHORTER THAN THE 245-35-20 THAT I HAD ON THE FRONT, I AM GOING TO HAVE IT MOUNTED TONIGHT AND SEE IF THE FRONT STILL RUBS WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.

UPDATED 5-2-06 I BOUGHT A HALF INCH RUBBER INSULATOR AND INSTALLED IT BETWEEN THE SPRING AND THE LOWER CONTROL ARM. SO I CAN FINALLY DRIVE MY CAR WITHOUT THE FRONT TIRES RUBBING. JUST NEED AN ALIGNMENT NOW.

UPDATED 11-6-06 I TOOK OUT THE OLD GAS TANK TO REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE.

UPDATED 11-14-06 I BOUGHT A FRESH 12 BOLT WITH POSI AND 3:73 RICHMOND GEARS, NOT EXACTLY THE GEARS I WANTED BUT THEY WILL WORK FOR NOW.

UPDATED 11-27-06 I INSTALLED THE NEW GAS TANK AND PUT MY REAR DISC BRAKES ON THE NEW 12 BOLT, I ALSO MOUNTED THE 12 BOLT ON THE CAR. I STILL HAVE TO BLEED THE BRAKES AND HOOK UP THE FUEL LINES.

UPDATED 12-4-06 I FINISHED THE REAR END INSTALL. I HAVE TO GO ABOUT 80 MILES AN HOUR TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO USE 6'TH GEAR. NOW WHEN I TAKE OFF IN 1'ST IT FEELS LIKE 1'ST GEAR SHOULD FEEL.

3-14-07 I RAN MY CAR AT SAC RACEWAY WITH MY SMALL BLOCK. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH MY TIMES.

UPDATED 2008 I GOT THE BIG BLOCK RUNNING, BUT I FLATTENED THE HYDRAULIC FLAT TAPPET CAM DURING BREAK IN, SO I TOOK THE BIG BLOCK BACK TO THE MACHINE SHOP TO PUT A SOLID ROLLER COMP CAM IN.

3-14-07 I TOOK THE CAMARO OUT TO SAC RACEWAY TO RUN THE 1/4 MILE, I AM NOT TO HAPPY WITH MY CARS RESULTS, 3-23-07 I SOLD THE SMALL BLOCK AND DECIDED TO GO BIG BLOCK. 3-23-07 8-13-07 THE HEADS ARE # 3919840 FROM 12-30-68, CLOSED CHAMBER, RECTANGULAR PORT, WHICH IS EITHER A 396-C.I. 375 HP L-78 OR 427 C.I. 435 HP UPDATED 7-26-07 I TOOK THE ENGINE TO THE MACHINE SHOP TO BE BUILT. THIS IS MY CENTER FORCE DUAL FRICTION CLUTCH PART # DF039020 THE CENTERFORCE FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH INSTALLED THE 6-SPEED READY TO BE BOLTED UP FINALLY THE 6-SPEED IS ALL BOLTED UP ON OCTOBER 16 2005 I HAD TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL 4-SPEED DRIVELINE (THE NICE SILVER PAINTED ONE) SHORTENED 4-INCHES TO BE ABLE TO BOLT UP TO THE 6-SPEED, THE OTHER DIRTY DRIVELINE CAME WITH THE 6-SPEED TRANNY, BUT ITS TO SHORT. UPDATED THE REAR BRAKES WAS A DIRECT BOLT ON EXCEPT HOOKING UP THE NEW BRAKE LINES AND THE PARKING BRAKE, ALSO SINCE THE REAR SHOCKS ON THE 69 CAMARO ARE STAGGERED, I ALSO HAD TO STAGGER THE REAR CALIPERS TO CLEAR THE SHOCKS, SO I PURCHASED 2-DRIVER SIDE REAR BRAKE BRACKETS. SO ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE THE CALIPER IS FACING THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND THE PASSENGERS SIDE CALIPER IS FACING THE REAR OF THE CAR. THIS IS THE LS-1 REAR BRACKET, WHICH HAS A DRUM BRAKE STYLE PARKING BRAKE THAT RIDES INSIDE THE ROTOR. 12-INCH REAR DISC BRAKES ON A 69 CAMARO NICE!!! BEFORE WITH THE DRUM BRAKES AFTER WITH THE 12-INCH REAR DISC BRAKES I LOWERED THE REAR 1 MORE INCH WITH A 1-INCH BELLTECH LOWERING BLOCK TO MAKE IT A TOTAL OF 2.5 INCHES MY NEW C5 CORVETTE CALIPER AND C6 WITH Z51 PERFORMANCE PACKAGE (13.39 -INCH) ROTOR THIS IS THE BRACKET THAT WILL MAKE MY CORVETTE BRAKES BOLT ON TO MY SPINDLE. I BOUGHT ALL MY CORVETTE BRAKES FROM WWW.KORE3.COM 11-INCH FACTORY ROTOR AND THE C6 CORVETTE 13.39 -INCH ROTOR These are my brand new Heidts 2-inch drop spindle, These with my hotchkis 2-inch drop spring should drop the front of the car a total of 4-inches The black spindle is a factory disc spindle, notice the difference The drop spindles are now installed.
