Getting ready for paint.
Heres the '88. The replacement for the '87. I've already converted it from a column shift to a floor shift and put in the tach. Seat belts are now for bucket seats instead of a bench seat. Steam cleaned the carpet. We're going to keep the grey carpeting instead of the blood red. Its in too good of condition to get rid of, and personally I prefer the grey!
THIS part is more of a project than I thought! WOW! I had a dent removal guy stop by and repair every dent and ding and wave on the car prior to sanding and dis-assembly. Perfectly straight. Its gonna be as smooth as a sheet of black glass!!!!
The '87 VR seats, front and rear, have been totally recovered and the red carpeting on the back of the front seats replaced with factory grey. They are in a safe place until the outside is complete. The one in the car in these pictures is a spare. The '87 VR door panels will be recovered closer to completion of the rest of the car(with grey carpeting on the bottom instead of the red).
To all the the guys that do body work and paint, I tip my hat! This is crazy. And I still have LOTS and LOTS more sanding to do......................
