This is my first car. Its an '85 VK berlina. Picked it up for $700. This is how it looked when I first bought it home. This photo is at my boyfriends house ready for the first of many modifications and improvements.

This photo is a couple of months later. We lowered it, installed VK Calais side panels, sprayed the bumpers a lighter silver, removed the ugly pinstripes and started a few interior mods.

The audio system includes:

- Panasonic CD Head Unit
- 150w 6" Front Panasonic speakers
- 200w 6" Rear Kenwood Speakers
- 2 x 500w Boss Subwoofers
- 900w Xplod Amp
(photos coming soon)

Future plans include -
5.0L V8
Lowered more
Group A Bodykit
Respray
Tinted Windows
Sunroof

Here's some work we've done since last time. As you can see from the photos below we have lowered it more and fitted the Group A bonnet scoop and side skirts. We also have the spoiler but decided against it because we prefer the clean, smooth look of the rear without it. We also changed the mags as well.

As well as the outside, we've done a heap of work on the inside too. The first interior mods we did included spraying the berlina door trims black and grey. It didn't turn out how we'd expected so we ripped em off and decided to go with the original executive door trims because they look clean and simple. We installed original HG Holden chrome window winders and chrome door handles off a VH SL/E. We resprayed the original brown console and dash (the dash isn't an easy task) the same grey as the door trims and added purple highlights such as the shifter surround, glovebox lid and console lid. We also plan to get all the dash gauges in purple as well.

Well we've come a long way since last being on. The VK is now in the Shed getting a driveline transplant. The 5.0L is out the window and the 3.8L is in. Yere, a V6!! We bought an ecotec with 160k on the clock and a t700 with a stage 2 shift kit out of a vs calais. We are currently halfway through the transplant. Having problems with the wiring. You know how it is.
We are painting the engine bay while it is out and plan to play with the v6 by installing a few trick mods. She won't be your standard 3.8 thats for sure. Will post some pics in the next couple of days to show you'se how its going. In the meantime here's some pics of it before we pulled it off the road with my boyfriends VQ Statesman.

Nice to see some other people with kits and the colour over silver combo! Looks good. I also had plans for an injected 5.0 but fuel prices have sort of put me off- the 6 loves fuel just as much!

Hey, i'm not just signing coz i'm another chick into doing up commodores. (I honestly didn't think there was so many!) I'm doing up (lol) a '85 VK Berlina, but it's still verry early into the build! You have a really nice ride there, looks really neat and straight! Love all the custom touches too.

We should all start a chick club. hehe! Come check out my custom VL. I too am a chick into commodores. My VL has a VK front end and has been in AutoSalon. I have been approached by Street Commodores last week and when I neaten up the engine bay they'll do a feature on it. Their sales are hell going to go up cos I'm gonna buy every issue... Anyway, nice beast you have there, cant wait to see how you go with her. Make sure you let me know when more pics are up - cant wait to see! Take care.
