Here is a pic of my new project.
I bought a '65 Mustang rolling shell - no engine or trans - former 6 cyclinder.
Plan is to rebuild this one with the parts from my "donor vehicle".
Here's a pic of the donor vehicle from back in the day. I rebuilt her back in '73
for my SWMBO (she who must be obeyed) while going to college.
A typical Michigan rust belt car the body is pretty much history. But mechanically she holds quite a few new parts. So the plan is to restore the new shell utilizing the V8 componetry from the donor vehicle.
Step-1: The 6 cyclinder 4-lug rear axle has got to go! Being replaced with the 5-lug V8 rear axle. In a case of the "while I'm at it's" I removed the gas tank to better access the rear axle and found a bunch of surface rust and undercoating that needed cleaning up.
