PORT and POLISH

MODULAR 286ci V-8 DOHC BOOSTED COBRA MOTOR EXTENSIVE HEAD & INTAKE PORTWORK....

These are before and after portwork, the ports on the left picture are factory, and the right pic is after porting. The Cobra intake manifolds came with runners inside; these have all been removed for maximum rpm effort motor with supercharger and nitrous oxide injection and 8,000 rpm.

This is the before and after pics of the portwork to the intake side of the heads. The blue that is marked in the left photo is the material that was to be removed. The portwork on intake and heads was extensive and experiemental, making this a super high rpm screamer engine, something most people will not want to replicate in a street car.

Here you can see where all the runners are removed and all the ports are opened, pressurizing the entire case with the turbo for top-end charge. Notice the top rows are finished and the bottom ports are not yet touched, giving you a clear indication of the heavy porting.

This is a shot of the chamber without the valves and after being touched up with port and polishing tools.

Thes two pictures are of the tools used to do the extensive porting to the entire motor. Nearly everything is aluminum so aluminum specific porting bits that take lots of practice to get used to were used, practicing on other scrap aluminum heads first....

Now isn't that a huge fricken hole or what? I will repeat once again that most of you out there on the street will not want to replicate this porting technique, because this is a super high CFM, ultra high RPM, torque killing, gaping hole that will slow down most cars that don't have the supporting boost, but will come in handy with the 70mm MasterPower Turbo strapped on with the boost cranked up...

These pictures above are pretty much self explanitory, the unported pics are all on the left, and the ported pics are on the right, using two different measurement methods.

Wow, beautiful Mustang. I love the blue paint and your gauge setup is really awesome. It's definitely very nicely done. 5 stars, keep up the great work and enjoy the ride. Also, my Mustang is currently in the top 25 nominations for SOTW next week. It would be a great honor to win this title. So, if you like my Stang, please stop by and drop it a nomination. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy Superbowl Sunday! -Gotadime
