This is a look under the valve covers as I began to tear the stock motor apart after breaking a piston while taking my mom for a joy-ride in my car spraying nitrous on top of the supercharger at 10+ lbs of boost with stock hyper-pathetic pistons; I guess it didn't like it much.

This is the most recent pictures of the new motor combination, 98 modular Cobra 4 Valve DOHC aluminum block align-honed and bored to 286 cubic inches and balanced past 8,000 rpm. Custom ported and polished stock heads and intake manifolds with long tube headers and 3 inch exhaust. SHM blower camshafts, Mahle Forged pistons, H-beam rods, 64mm throttlebody, 42lb injectors, 87mm mass-air meter, and custom Hargis Blow Off Valve. The supercharger is Vortech S-Trim at about 13 lbs of boost, with an Anderson Power Pipe, MSD Ignition, 3.73 rear-end gears, Tremec 3650 five speed Trans, HD Ram Clutch, Matrix Subframe Connectors, No front Swaybar, Tweecer Tuning Software and many, many other modifications. This Combination so far has run a best of 12.9@116mph on street tires and without the nitrous, and put down 490 hp and 380 lb-ft of never ending torque on a dyno with no cooldown, the engine never dropping off on power, it makes more power the more you rev it, and it was only taken to 7200 rpm on the dyno. Even a small dose of the nitrous should put the mph up into the 120's easily, and horsepower should go well above the 500 mark.

The stock motor and pistons surprisingly lasted for a very long time, but eventually a piston failed, and when it was pulled apart it was obvious two bearings were on there way out the door, so it was saved just in time promting the forged and bored bottom end to be built.

Above are a few pics of the Mahle Forged and dished pistons, and the beefy H-beam rods that I found as a kit and bought off of E-bay, and sent to Paul's Automotive and had the block bored and balanced and they must have done a good job because the motor has recently seen 8,000+ RPM without missing a beat.

Above is a picture of the new bottom end after I got everything back from the machine shop and assembled it at my work, right before I closed it up and put on the oil pan. I wanted some color in my engine bay this time so I painted the block and other parts bright red-orange.

This is a picture of my Off road H-Pipe and a Mac H-Pipe for a 5.0 mustang that I hacked up and installed on the Cobra for a few days because the Mac box looked like a catalitic converter and the car needed to pass E-check, and of course it worked and since I took care of all codes with my laptop and tweecer tuning software, the car passed E-check but it was way too quiet so I pulled the Mac Box Pipe off immediately and put my real exhaust back on.

This is a pic of the Pro-M Mass Air meter I am using after having issues with the Lightning Mass Air Meter and getting rid of it. The lightning Mass Air was pegged at 5 volts (maxed out)not long after the 400 hp mark.

This is my custom made BOV that I made myself because no one had one made for these cars that I could find and actually it works quite well now, it has been on the car for well over a year with no problems. It is very loud and no one else has one on their car unless a company starts making them or you build one yourself.

This is a picture of when I installed the new built motor into the Cobra by lowering it down onto the K-Member. This made the motor install much easier having Longtubes and such.

Above are some shots of the new motor fully installed into the Cobra with everything bolted up and the nitrous plumbed and wired, and the car ready to roll out once again.

This is a couple close-ups of the Nitrous plumbing into the intake and solenoid placement. It uses a wide open throttle switch and NOS powershot nitrous solenoids. It is a wet kit that is usually jetted for a 50-100 hp shot of nitrous until the day I get greedy.

Wow, beautiful Mustang. I love the blue paint and your gauge setup is really awesome. It's definitely very nicely done. 5 stars, keep up the great work and enjoy the ride. Also, my Mustang is currently in the top 25 nominations for SOTW next week. It would be a great honor to win this title. So, if you like my Stang, please stop by and drop it a nomination. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy Superbowl Sunday! -Gotadime
