Competition:
Look at what the Acclaim LX was up against in its heyday, a bunch of garbage, ugly, pieces of shit throw-away cars. These all were half-ass engineered and behind its time, what is with GM and their stubborness in not even having real cupholdes and other nice things like a trunk lid that goes all the way down to the bumper? I do not get it. American manufacturers besides the Chrysler Corporation were definitely not paying attention to much. Cars with * denotes a partially nice car but the standard model is total garbage. Cars with ** denotes nice car anyways. Such as (alphabetically):

Buick Century, Limited*
Buick Skylark
Chevy Corsica, LTZ*
Ford Tempo
Mercury Topaz
Olds Achieva, SL*
Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
Pontiac Grand Am, GT*

This is all I can think of right now and I am not going into Imports, but I do have a few likes on this page but the others I would never buy unless I planned on beating it to death. Just kidding, none of these is the bad but a "Car and Driver" magazine said something along the lines of even if you bought an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, if you sat in you neighbor's Acclaim, you wouldn't want your Cut Ciera anymore.
I often call my LX the BMW Acclaim. It handles well, drives smooth, nice sounding V6, accelerates amply and, get this, I have a Blue, Maroon, White Acclaims, B.M.W.!

hey man whats up your acclaim looks excellent! you are totally right about it being loaded. i know what you mean about not wanting to drive it in the snow, i'm that way about my '75 valiant. i liked all the details and stories on your page. i drive my evil spirit in the winter cuz it goes like a tank in the snow, much like your acclaim. my spirit is totally unloaded lol come check it out and REALLY be happy about all the options you have. mine has manual locks, seats, mirrors, windows, gas door and trunk. it has a little storage space in the dash instead of a message center/trip counter, and has no tach cluster or overdrive. it's the 2.5L 4 cyl. but it does have cruise and rear defrost and it came with a cassette player. let me know what ya think! take care and keep me posted on those new pics from springtime.

Brian! My name is also Brian! The weird thing about this is that I have a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim, which is identical to yours! Including colour and snowy background! Curious, I had a problem with stalling (fixed), but now the transmission is downshifting and upshifting whenever it wants to. Seems to only happen when tranny is cold. Wonder if you had same issue? Totally weirded out by 2 Brians with identical cars!!
