In October 2004 I bought a 1992 Dodge Spirit 3.0 3 speed auto parts car for it. He didn't want to deal with the car anymore, had an accident with it and wanted to junk it so I paid $50 for it. He said that the belt shredded off and that the car would not run. I towed it the .25 miles home and the next day skipped school and pulled the fender and the bumper out, the damage was as far in as possible, with the sheetmeal crammed up against the Unitbody, the driver was lucky, another .75 inches to the left the airbag would have deployed. I fixed the driver window and plugged a couple of wires in and started it right up. It purred like a pissed off, beaten down, ugly kitten with peeling paint and driver side only, bottom-of-doors-rust. With only 103055 miles on it I decided it was too young to waste on parts. Six days later The Plymouth went off the road and on went the blue Spirit with red and white stripes. As of April 5, 2005 8850 miles have been put on it with only a $10 oil change, don't you love stupid people?!

You can tell it is a Spirclaim because it is transexual with it being a Dodge with the Plymouth grille. Too bad the bottoms of the driver's side doors are rotting out. They make so much noise too. The driver-side rear jack point is also rotted too bad to use. Road salt is cool. not.

Blue with two shades of blue interior, cloth/vinyl seats.

March 16, 2005 Update of this butchered pile, yesterday, I busted my driver's window, on a warmer day. I decided not to replace it. Then it got cold. Central NY (Upstate) has wierd weather. So I had decided to buy another car instead because this is a piece of shit looking, but good running Spirit. A 1992 white Plymouth Sundance sedan with 2.5, 3 spd auto was in my sights, for $400 and was very taken care of. But, today I fixed my window with a window from the white parts car. So maybe I'll do the windshield, the driverseat (March 17 DONE!), the right tie rod and maybe be some cheap undercoat just to drive it for a long while longer, then maybe a fender, bumper cover and a paint job. Maybe.

I need some help from everyone. My Spirit acts up sometimes. After I get on it pretty good and then park it for a few minutes with it running, it starts to sputter and miss. When I rev it, a huge cloud of oil smoke blows out and keeps sputtering. When I put it in Drive and go, get on it a bit after a .1-.2 mile it stops missing and is fine after that for a long while. It is isolated incidents that embarass me. Maybe it is just oil fouled plugs that get really bad every once in a while or what? Help.

I am very lucky, Art does any mechanical work on any car. If he can not do it, it can not be done. My Dad does body work. He does it very well. If he can not do it, it can not be done. He has finished cars for the better part of the last 20 years, his panels fit, his paint matches and his work kicks ass! If I pay for parts, and lend a hand, it gets done, dirt cheap and the right way!

Yes, this Spirit is very ugly, and I do get laughed at for it, but it will leave rubber patches on the road after the rubber smoke clears! The gas mileage is consisted low 20's, but I have not ran it in any other season except winter so I am not sure. I am going to drive this car to and from college. Many people in my family say ,"You need a reliable car for college." and other comments. The side of the family that says that is all driving GM cars! The other side of the family does not think that the Spirit is shitty because it is the Chrysler side. THIS CAR IS VERY RELIABLE! IT STARTS UP EVERYDAY AND DURING THE DAYS IT WAS 25 BELOW ZERO OUTSIDE, AND PARKED OUTSIDE, IT STARTED RIGHT UP WITH NO HESITATION! I love this car. I think that it is reliable. Yes my car is so SHITTY! It is unsafe to drive on public roads and should be towed! Kill it.

My little 92 Spirit V6 A670 is a great car. I am going to drive it until it becomes very expensive, afterall I paid $50 for it.

HEHEHEHE *EVIL CACKLING!*

APRIL 29, at 114300 miles, the DODGE was sold to my friend Andrea for $250 that was after a Front brake Job, a speeding ticket, new exhaust and a brand new windshield!

I sold it to buy a black 1990 LEXUS ES250 with a 2.5 v6 and 5 speed tranny! It is fully loaded, Pictures will come up soon. Sure, the front brakes don't work and the clutch slips, it is still a high priced Jap piece of shit, after one week I already hate it and have seriously thought of purposely going off the road and totaling it!

hey man whats up your acclaim looks excellent! you are totally right about it being loaded. i know what you mean about not wanting to drive it in the snow, i'm that way about my '75 valiant. i liked all the details and stories on your page. i drive my evil spirit in the winter cuz it goes like a tank in the snow, much like your acclaim. my spirit is totally unloaded lol come check it out and REALLY be happy about all the options you have. mine has manual locks, seats, mirrors, windows, gas door and trunk. it has a little storage space in the dash instead of a message center/trip counter, and has no tach cluster or overdrive. it's the 2.5L 4 cyl. but it does have cruise and rear defrost and it came with a cassette player. let me know what ya think! take care and keep me posted on those new pics from springtime.

Brian! My name is also Brian! The weird thing about this is that I have a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim, which is identical to yours! Including colour and snowy background! Curious, I had a problem with stalling (fixed), but now the transmission is downshifting and upshifting whenever it wants to. Seems to only happen when tranny is cold. Wonder if you had same issue? Totally weirded out by 2 Brians with identical cars!!
