SUSPENSION:
The above pic is right after redoing the front springs and lowering the back 1" from where it was. My goals here are nothing extreme. But I do believe a car should be able to turn and not just go in a straight line. For an old car GM did well with the SS suspension package, but it still leaves a lot to be desired.
I love cornering backroads, so I've put some effort here and will have more done eventually. It's enough improvement so far to surprise people.
I want to do a new wheel/tire combo on a 17x8 front and 17x11 rear platform with some nice rubber when money allows.
The rear suspension still needs work in the form of better shocks, pinion angle correction, and stiffer springs.
FRONT:
Above pic is comparison of new versus old springs
Tru-coil 5"x9.5" 750# rate springs (around double stock spring rate)
Speedway height adjusters
F41 stabalizer bar
KYB shocks
REAR:
1970 GM 12 Bolt
3.42 Motive gears
Eaton posi-traction limited slip
Superior heavy duty forged axles
Hotchkis 1in drop springs with spacers for some height (I like the body to be even or a hair above the tire, not covering it), ~135# (may replace with 160-170# later)
F41 stabalizer bar
Boxed lower control arms
Lakewood adjustable upper control arms
Mr Gasket traction bars(will remove if my wheel hop is gone now that the uppers are adjustable)
More pics coming soon...
