Ok, this is my first car. 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva. Been saveing for months, finally got enough for a car. Since I just got it and spent all my money on it (3000$ CDN), I don't have anymore for any upgrades yet. Here's what it looks like right now Ahbocks's 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva. I'm not sure yet if I'll keep this car (I took it becuase I got it for about $3000 cheaper than any nearby are selling for, and they're in worse shape), I may sell it and 'upgrade' to a better car. But I would like to have a car that'll last a long time, and this one has only 97k KM's on it (about 60,000 miles). Next paycheck though I am getting a CD deck, when I get it I'll take pictures of it. After the deck I might either get new component speakers or sub/amp. If you want to see the stereo and speakers I buy, check back by April 20th and I should have them by then. Don't actually think I'll paint it unless I decide to keep the car.

Well. After about 3 weeks of delays, my car finally arrived. A relative who lived in the area was kind enough to drive it down for easter. I couldn't get to easter supper, so someone was bringing it back for me (it actually only got as far as one town over). On the way back however, they got into an (I'll post pics tommorow). I'll have to replace the front bumper, hood, driver-side fender and headlamp. We're talking to the insurance company (previous owners insurance still on it luckily), hopefully we'll be able to get some of it covered. So this puts my audio plans on hold. :P

Well through experience I definitely can't say these cars are reliable, and that's just because their GM and everything on it that goes wrong, also goes wrong on every other GM so I'm getting rid of mine and probably getting a Mustang. Get a Toyota, those last forever and without the problems and impossible maintenance. Mine is a 3.1L V6 and you have to lift the motor to change the spark plugs or the belt. If that sounds stupid to you, 6 hours worth of time and work in the cold sure convinced me.
