This is my 1981 Ford Cortina which I have been doing up, I have recently installed driving lights to it which really brightens things up! This is my car parked here at Gold Creek near the National Dinosaur Museum.
These chrome bumpers are off a TE Cortina, which I placed on my TF. The rear bumper fitted nicely, but the front can only sit on with two bolts, while normal TF bumpers have four bolts. The TE bumpers are also chunkier which I like better, then the slimmer TF black ones. I took them off as I and many others agreed (though the polls suggest otherwise) that the black ones gave a better contrast then the chrome.
Here are the rest of the pictures
Here are some Engine Bay pics with Kermit the frog green coloured paint. The rocker cover was meant to be polished alloy with the little squares painted green, but never did end up happening.
And here is my JVC CD Player with a graphic that I stuck on underneath it from Star Trek Enterprise (originally just a plain black face) and my own heater face controls that I made up
Spent over a year doing up this Cortina. From just an average plain silver car I have had it resprayed it to the colour of 'Acid Rush' from the new BA Ford Falcon. The engine used to be a 3.3 litre, but its now a 4.1 litre from an XE Falcon. I changed it to manual transmission as I hate automatics. It is now running on LPG, and its got a dual 2.5 inch exhast system on it. LPG has given the car a lot more power then it ever was on petrol with a 350 Holley on it.
Front grill is off a TE Cortina, just changed it to be a wire mesh type grill and sprayed it black. Front spoiler and side skirts are also off a TE. Interior used to be light gray, but its now pretty much all black. Bonnet scoop is off an e49 RT Charger. I picked up all these body kit parts from the wreckers, except for the Charger bonnet scoop, it was bought from www.moparmarket.com.au
These are some older pictures of the car when it wasn't as done up as it is now, as you can see with the pea shooter exhaust and 15 inch wheels on it.
