Camping expedition - Akamas
Well... its been a while to post, but at least I have some worthy stuff: I finally managed to go to the Akamas Peninsula, one of the few truly wild places left in Cyprus.
Terain includes rocky paths through low bushes, sandy strips and dust trails. Now, as my Niva has billstein suspension at the front and Monroe at the back, and Im missing a roof (its convertible, remember?) the suspension is a bit tough, so I loaded it up with 5 strapping young lads, including myself ;p
By doing so, the ride did get lower as you can see in the pics (compared to an empty/one person car), but I had vast improvements in handling and power distribution.
My baby actually gave up on me at one point, after some pretty rough and fast uphill dirttracks, hence the photo with the aforementioned strapping young lads actually strapping the niva to their backs ;p. The problem was discovered to be electrical, and was fixed on the spot: the wire to the distributor had fallen from one of its connectors, so have it in mind if you suddenly lose power in the middle of nowhere after a particularly rough stretch.
Anyway enough rambling, enjoy some of the pics!
