Saab abuse & adventures. Yes, I am driving it on the dirt back roads. What's it to ya?
This car is a dream machine for me. It handles beautifully on the curvy mountain roads & grips in snowy/icy conditions very well. This summer I was able to get it out on some dirt roads & although the clearance is not what my last vehicle offers, it sticks to the corners, has minimal drift on dirt or gravel, & I don't hafta breathe the dust!
Cerro Norroeste (Mt. Able), Quatal Canyon & Lockwood Valley loop are some of my favorite locals routes. I am hoping for early snow fall here in SoCal so I can go play.
The best news is this: I met more Saab drivers in my small town. Bob & Mike are fun to hang with (BBQ, again?). But Bob prefers pavement to dirt roads & also he doesn't like to camp. Will we take the Saab SUV 9-7 to Tahoe next week??? I will be sure to take plenty pictures!
