Welcome to the home of the "Bass Wagon"
1998 Ford Escort SE Wagon 2.0 L Automatic
I nolonger own this car, but check out my Buick LaCrosse!
I've upgraded the audio system and some aspects of the interior. On the inside, I've put in a dash mod, new deck, all new speakers, amplifier and sub woofer. A friend of mine gave me some seat and steering wheel covers so I put those in as well. I got some fuzzy dice for $5 too!
This car is dubbed the "Bass Wagon" as the sound from the sub woofer in the trunk is able to reverberate very well as it is a wagon. In many cases, the bass is so loud; it's difficult to make out lyrics.
The car was repainted this spring, absolutly no rust now!
My car's fat-wagon-ass.
The cool racing seat covers I got from my friend.
And the matching steering wheel cover.
The spacious rear bench (the place to sit if you have a bass fetish)
The subwoofer and amplifier. This is a 12" MTX Road Thunder 4000 in a home made MDF enclosure, driven by Kicker KR120 120 Watt, 2-channel (Bridged) amp. For those of you who know Kicker, this amp needs no explanation. For those of you who think, "120 watts is nothing"... think again! Combined with this sub woofer, the Kicker will demolish your anus. Those 120 watts are so clean that you'd think it was 600. In fact, I'm will to bet this amp would leave any cheapy 600 watt amp screaming in agony.
The beauty of a wagon. Acoustically, this is perfect for bass, and I still have lots of room for storage.
A close-up of the Kicker, what a beast.
The Kicker's close friend, the MTX Road Thunder 4000.
The center console; it's quite simple, 4-speed auto with overdrive, Metra dash kit for my new deck and AC/Heater controls.
The deck is a Sony CDX-F7705X. The display on this deck is gorgeous; some of the visualizations actually include full motion video. I know that in car audio, looks are deceiving, but this deck looks and sounds amazing.
The $5 fuzzy dice, a must-have.
As you can see, I drive this car a lot, it still treats me well though.
My door speakers, these are Pioneer 6.5" 3-Ways and sound great. Not in picture; 2 5x7" Pioneer 2-way speakers, behind the rear bench inside columns. With some cotton, these columns add a lot of body to the sound. Both sets have excellent bass response.
A close-up of the deck, I love the blue.
My fuax-racing buckets again.
View from the trunk.
I find those seat covers add a lot of attitude to my car. hah
