This is the Stinkin Lincoln.
It isn't much to look at right now, but I'm going to try and change that once I get some free time and money. If you’re wondering, the car is called the Stinkin Lincoln for two reasons. One-My mom drives a Continental that we call the Blinkin Lincoln. Two-When I bought the car, a smell came with it. Luckily, someone came up with car fresheners and febreeze. The car is just sitting right now because the brakes are messed up. I got a brake booster for my birthday, but we aren’t sure that’s the problem any more. I don't want to replace something that isn't broken. If you have any advice on the subject, please leave it in my guestbook. I will post before pictures and hopefully I will be able to post after pictures once I fix it up.

Yes, this is awesome, MY BRAKES WORK. I went to Lincolns online and printed a step by step plan of attack to fix mark vii brakes. The plans said to check the relays and ABS switch first. I went to the local ford dealer and they said the relays are 30 bucks a piece and the switch was something like 300 bucks. Luckily my parents got me a used booster for my birthday. I figured I would use that switch and just get the relays. The guy at the dealership said they just finished fixing a mark's brakes and it cost a couple thousand dollars. I was getting prepared to do the svo conversion like bmnlsc, but it worked. I now have fully functional brakes. I haven’t got a chance to really test them out yet because the interior is all apart and they still need to be bled. I would like to give a special thanks to everyone who took the time to help me with the problem, especially my dad.

I bet everyone thinks that I have abandoned my site. Well, I have not. I have been working on the car in my spare time (which is very, very limited). Since the last time the site was updated, I have changed all four rotors, pads, converted to coils, and made seat covers from scratch. Yes that’s right, I have made tweed covers by using the leather seat covers as templates. The job would have been a lot easier if I had a heavy duty sewing machine. I started the project with no experience in upholstery, so I don't know how they will hold up, and there are imperfections. I did, however, pay a fraction of the cost it would have taken to buy a good set of covers. Now I have to get the seats back in the car. That is easier said than done with my schedule. I have also bought a new carpet and headliner. I'm going to try and get going on the rebuild as soon as possible. I had today set aside for working on the car, but it was raining like crazy. Tomorrow I am going to work on the car no matter what.

I don’t want to jinx it, but I think I'm getting close to getting this beast on the street. Every time I fix something I find another problem that has to be dealt with. Many people said that I should have gotten a better car to start with, at least something that was already street worthy. I have to admit that I was starting to agree with them, but now that I have heard the sound of that 302 with just the shorty headers, I know it is worth the wait. Unfortunately the wait is getting even harder to cope with.

Over Christmas vacation I did some house painting for my uncle who owns a 1988? Ford Mustang Gt. In return for my work he gave me some underdrive pulleys and an aftermarket mass air flow sensor that he had laying around. It will be a while before I install them, but once I get my crap together I will put a whole load of performace parts on at once.

The restoration of my car has become my graduation project. I will use this website to showcase my progress. My time log is on page 7.

I had problems with water getting into the car. I replaced the moon roof seal and redid the back windows. I thought my problems were over but that would just be way too easy. Now my windshield is leaking. My theory is that the windows were smashed in by some punks and the previous owner knew a guy that would fix it for cheap. I dont even think they used the right sealent. On top of it, my custom exhaust isn't fitting as well as I had hoped, so were going to need to do some extera chopping and welding. The gas tank is going under the knife. Hopefully I can get some long awaited pictures up. I start new school classes on monday. Most of them are easier, meaning i'll have more time to work on the car. One of them is steel shop 2 so I'll get to make car parts while at school. My fist thought was to shave the bumpers to make them nice and smooth, but I'm thinking that the pads are there for good reason. If you have any good ideas for a trick custom project, let me know in the guestbook. (If you read this and you have converted your Mark VII to MAF from Speed Density, please tell me how hard the job was and how many green backs must bite the bullet.)

I was off school today because of bad weather. Once the precipitation stopped I went out and got alot of work done on the car. I was getting the right pipe in place when I noticed that the stock hanger just wasnt going to work. After some fabrication I was able to modify and rotate the hanger 180 degrees so that it fits near perfect. Even though I was rained on, the hanger fell on my face, and I got zapped with a 220 volt plug when I was setting up the welder, I think today was a success.

My parents are the best. They got me a truck to use until my car is finished. It’s a 96 Ford Ranger with a 4.0L V6. I’m not sure I want to finish the car now. I'm just kidding, but it is a really awesome truck. Maybe Ill post it on car domain, but its not getting any modifications, so Ill probably just put pictures of it on this site. When I was working on my car today, it was warm enough to get away with just wearing a long sleeve T-shirt. I think the warmer weather is going to cause progress to increase substantially.

Things have been pretty crazy lately. I entered the Ultimate Ski Fan Contest hosted by the B104 Radio station and won a new snowboard, so I’ve been to the mountain a lot. I'm participating in TARK (Team America Rocketry Challenge), and I’m responsible for the tower competition and scrambler in Science Olympiad. I’m also trying pole vaulting in track this year. As you can imagine I’m unbelievably busy. The science stuff sounds kinda nerdy, but ill eventually post some pictures to show you its really cool stuff. I just need to fit the total restoration of my car into my schedule and I’ll be set.

I got a good amount of work done today, but things were so crazy I never wrote down any times.

This Mark gives new meaning to LOW RIDER.

This car puts up a fight every step of the way and its really starting to tick me off. The exhaust still isn’t done, but its close. I got rebuilt rear calipers because the old ones leaked. For some reason my dad and I got the urge to paint them red. I can't wait for summer. I had a ton of super tough classes at school and I just want it to end so I can work on the car. I also picked up an eclipse 10" subwoofer that was going for cheap from eBay. I don't want a crazy system that shatters glass; I just want a little more bass. The new carpet and rear seat are in the car. It looks pretty good, but I don't have a camera available to take pictures at the moment.

I'm getting stuff done on the car, but my hours have been too random to document. School is finally winding down and I can’t wait until it is over. In steel shop I’m making a tubing bender for 2.5" and 3" exhaust. I sure wish I had it before I started to convert the Mustang exhaust. I would like to put it in print that converting a Mustang exhaust to fit a Mark VII is a stupid thing to do. If you have done it and you are satisfied, than good for you, but in my opinion, I would have been much better off just starting from scratch. If your not familiar with exhaust and are considering upgrading to a 2.5", I would suggest you see if a shop can do it for you, but if you have little money to spend and don't mind hard work than go for the new JEG'S STREET ROD EXHAUST KIT. I just can't wait to see the trouble this car is going to give me when I go to paint it!

I can’t believe it’s been this long since my last post. I’m just too busy. I thought I would have finished the car over the summer, but between soccer and a part time job, I just didn’t have the time. On top of that, I have to look at colleges and fill out applications. Everything is starting to wind down a little so I think I’ll get to work on it more. My graduation project is due in one month. I’ve met the requirements of 60 hours pretty easily, but I never thought that I wouldn’t be finished.

I tried starting the car today. The starter is firing but there’s not enough juice to turn the motor. The worst problem is that the dash is just a few wires from being completely detached. I thought I connected all of the plugs necessary to start up, but there are just too many for me to know for sure. A weird problem is that the lights are on but the switches are all out. Must be a safety feature? The battery has been sitting for a VERY long time without being recharged also. I had the charger on it all day and tried the hot start but it just wouldn’t go. Hopefully I can get it to start tomorrow.

Well the time has finally arrived to hand in the paper work for my graduation project. It’s amazing to see how much I have done to the car and how much I still need to do. It is a shame that I am so busy, because this weather is perfect for working on the car. I hope we get a little snow though, because I am a snowboarder and the local mountain has only two or three good trails open. I will get more time next month since my hard classes are ending soon. This car better be done before summer!

Well this officially sucks. The Stinkin Lincoln eats batteries. Im going to have to put a third one in before it gets on the road. The worst part is that its not even a short or anything, its the fact that the car just sits outside all winter. I'll prolly be updating often now since im diving headfirst back into the project.

Since I wasnt distracted enough, I decided to pick up another project car, well kind of anyway. I'm now participating in Penn State's Formula SAE Program. If you don't know what I'm talking abbout here is a little background. Colleges all over the country, some out of the country, build race cars that use 600cc sportbike engines. They are truely amazing vehicles. Penn State's car goes from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds even though there is a 20mm intake restriction. Just think of how fast it would rip if a regular intake was put back on. If I can get around to it I will post some pictures. Here is Penn State's website, check out the videos.(http://www2.mne.psu.edu/sae/fsae/mainframe.html)
