Hey everyone! Just to let you know a little bit about myself, I am not into performance mods so much. The main reason is probably because I don't know much about them and maybe because I am an old fart who just wants a nice car that drives smooth and doesn't want to race anyone. lol I will say that you guys who are into performance mods really seem to know what you are doing, so nice job! :)
Below are some pics of my ride. I like doing appearance mods, but I am not as into it as some people I have seen out there. Some people get really crazy! Enjoy.
Dr. Monkey always rides in the back with me. I guess this is more like Hula Monkey, but hey, even the Doc has to take a vacation every once in a while.
Here is the front of the car with my clear one Piece Cefiro headlights and the custom bumper grill.
These are my one piece Cefiro Headlights. I went with the crystal instead of the smoked because I like the look on my car better.
This is the latest thing I have done. I was not expecting to do this mod, in fact, I did not even know this existed, but I was at the autoparts store one day and saw these and thought, what the hell, let's try it. These are small rubber-like rings that slide on around your headlight bulb. They are charged by the light and then when you turn the lights off, these things glow. They have different colors to choose from and it takes about 5 minutes to install at most. Kind of neat I guess.
This is one of the tails that I redded out. I don't particularly care for the amber lense car manufacturers use for turn signals, so I redded the turn signals on my tails. I think it came out pretty nice looking.
Here is a rear shot of the redded out tails. I still have these, but also got another set of rear tails that I cleared. They are on the car now. I hope to have some pictures of that up soon.
Here is a shot of the cleared tails I did.
These are the LED tail light bulbs that I have in the cleared tails. I put LED bulbs in all the rear lenses of the car.
This is what they look like at night when the turn signal is on. I used amber LED bulbs for the turn signals as well.
I installed the LED Mirrors on my car.
This is what they look like at night when they light up. You can wire them so they stay on whenever your lights are on, but I chose to wire them so they only come on when I use my turn signal. I freeking love these things!!!
Here is the front of the car. As you can see, I made a custom grill for the bumper.
Here is a close up of the custom grill I made for the car. It really was not that hard to do. The mesh is very easy to work with and is very forgivable. All you need is some time, patience, a pair of wire cutters, and maybe a ruler.
These are the white faced 6 color indiglo guages that I used to have in my car. They were pretty cool, but I switched up to some OEM Maxima White Faced guages, cleared the needles, and put some blue LED's in the cluster. I did this to match the blue LED's I installed in the window switches and center console.
This is what the OEM Maxima white faced guages with blue LED's behind and a silver guage pod cover look like. I painted the guage cover and the needle caps to match.
Backing up a little bit, this is what the indiglo guages looked like with the light green color. I had blue LED needles with these indiglo guages.
And these are the guages that I have now with the blue LED's behind the OEM Maxima white faced guages.
I removed my OEM auto dim mirror and installed the auto dim mirror with digital compas. I love it! Don't mind the wire hanging down from the roof, that was where the old mirrior was mounted. I have since hidden the wire and you can not even tell it was ever there. I will post more up to date pictures later. This was an easy mod to do.
Here is how I finished off the roof where the OEM mirror used to be.
OK, this is the 98-99 I30 digital AC Controlls. I purchased this one thinking I could replace my 96 - 97 AC Controlls, but it wont work. If you want to buy this one from me, email me and we can work a deal.
Here is the back of the 98-99 AC Controlls.
This is the OEM, almost 10 year old fog light. You can see the heat shield inside the enclosure. it is the grey square you see behind the glass.
Here is a picture of the new Euro fog lamp for our I30's! As you can see, there is no heat shield behind the glass on the Euro fog lamp. That is the only difference between the two. Other than the heat shield, everything else is completely the same. They are a great buy though!! :)
OK, so this may seem silly, but I like to make my car look and feel as new as possible. Here I re-did the trunk carpet. Nice and new! lol
Basically what I did was went out to the local auto parts store and purchased new carpet. They sell it in rolls. I laid the old carpet on top of the new one and traced around the edges with a sharpie marker. Then I sprayed automotive carpet glue on top of the old carpet and some on the back of the new carpet. I waited for it to get tacky and then carefully laid the new carpet on top of the old carpet. I pressed it down and let it dry. I decided to use the old carpet and padding to give the trunk more cushion. Once the glue dried, I placed the carpet back in the trunk and BAM, just like new!
Well, yesterday (July 22, 2006) at 3:15pm I had an accident. I am not too happy about this especially since it was the other persons fault. They failed to yield to oncomming traffic. I was oncomming traffic!!! Here are some images of my car NOW!!!
