Project Midnight
Project Midnight started back at the end of 2003, was named "midnight" because of the midnight blue paint of this 89 toyota supra. Heres how it all happened... I was looking through the local paper for supras and found this one for $900. I went to look at the car and discovered it to be a turbo with all the options (tems, sport roof, leather, etc), not only that its the rare midnight blue on blue interior. The car didnt run and needed a rebuild. Obcourse I couldnt bare to see this car go to junk or parts, a car as great as a supra should be restored, and made even better then stock "if thats humanly possible". So I bought the car and took it home, but instead of buying a jdm engine, I took out the engine, rebuilt it, and put it back in. I put performance bearings and rings, non turbo cams, and shimmed the turbo to 8lb. It took 4 months to do but was worth it.
I then went on a trip to Brasil and came back to find my supra sitting in the back of the drive with no stereo, and the tags on the licence plate gone. On top of that 2 weeks later my dad was driving my car and it got rear ended. Rear left side, enough to take out the tail lamp, licence plate holder, and cave in the metal. Total damage $3000, This may turn out to be good since the insurance will pay for the damage (up to 2400, and I know a body shop that is cheap so i can even upgrade my car while its there. I plan on taking out the side stripping and make it smooth, and sexxxy. The whole car is going to get painted in about 2 weeks. And will hopefully look new. Obcourse im going to keep the midnight blue paint (even though red is my favorite color) Im going to turn this car into a modern sexy performer.
Instead of making the engine fast first and buying a body kit like most people(i dont like the ones they got for this car anyway), im going the other way around, first im going to make a body kit, then after it looks good im going to give the car 300hp. The pic at the top is what i want the car to look like, lowered slightly, 18in 5 spokes, trimmed front and rear bumper, side skirts to make the car look taller. Im going to tell the body shop to flare the fenders about 1mm (dont wanna stray too far from the stock lines) Im good with fiber glass and are a graphic designer, i already made a clay mold of what i want in a front bumper, I drew a pix in flash to show you guys but it doesnt look as good as the 3D version. Check out the progress...
