I was going to WyoTech when I originaly bought this car. I had only seen one other 59 Pontiac before, it was a four door vista window starchief. It looked to be a costly restoration, not being one for restorations, I still decided I had to have one.
When I heard there was a two door hardtop in a junk yard 3 hours north of Laramie I knew I had to look. When I showed up at the junk yard the car was up to it's rocker panels in the ground, the quarter panel on one side was rusted clear through, the hood was stuck shut and the floors were gone.
I went home disappointed, but still began to do some research. Unbelievably I found a NOS replacement quarter panel. It came in two overlapping pieces that together would completely solve the quarter panel.
At that point I decided I was going to go for it. I figured, if nothing else it'd be a good story start to finish...
