here are some shots of the exterior...
this is what she used to look like, and i'm hoping to get her back to this shape soon, just different color.
the story behind this...i'm driving down country club, about 45 MPH, theres a car probably 2-3 car lengths ahead of me. he's less than a car length away from the intersection when it turns yellow, and he SLAMS ON HIS BRAKES. i plowed right into the back of him. of course, since i'm in back it's MY fault. it's my second ticket, so now my insurance is gonna SKYROCKET. probably somewhere around $350-400 a month.
but when shit happens, you gotta keep on truckin!
since i had to fix 2 dents in front after the accident, i decided to get off my lazy ass and paint it. my gun kept messing up, so it kind of looks like it's rattle canned.
these 2 make really good background pictures :)
new grille, $40 with $30 shipping
yes, there is birdcrap on my tailgate :( they always seem to hit my truck. i think they're jealous...
one of my inspirations for my truck is the red rocker from hill's hot rods, and one of the things they do is shave the body line
ALL GONE! it's one of those tiny changes that'll make it stand out from most of the other 73-87's
and here is how she sits now...
just kidding!
got all 4 of my stockers, and installed a flip kit. right now it's sitting on the bump stops until i can weld in my step notches, then it should drop another 3 inches until it hits a cross rail, which i will notch so it'll drop another inch, and hopefully be drivable with a 10" rear drop (i decided to trade my shackles with my friend for his stock ones, so it'll only be a 8" rear drop, plus a 2 or 3" body drop.)
i wanted to rebuild my motor, but i was just waiting for a good time. well i blew my motor one day, so i figured that was the perfect time. i plan on painting it black and resealing everything so it won't leak anymore. i'll also be putting in trailer fenders and painting the inside of the engine bay
and here's the problem, a broken push rod woohoo!
welded the turn signals shut...brought them home to finish up the grinding and filling
ground the welds down
and after the first layer of bondo. get rage xtreme, it's as smoooooooooth as polyester!
side mirrors are gone
new motor!
after we put in the new motor, starting to put the front end back together
waiting on the new rollpan, and i had to fix the rear left corner after being rear-ended by a wall
smoooooooth!
i haven't updated in quite a while...those are 22" ss replicas!
i began the teardown to body drop it to the doors...
needed to cut the bumpstops, they were keeping the frame about 3" off the ground
the a/c needed to come out too!
hole for the driveshaft, it will be covered once i get paid!
and the first channel done. i ran out of disks so i have to wait until pay day to do the other! for those of you that don't know, this is done to allow more room for the frame to come up higher, and the body lower :)
past the pinch right now, the front isn't laying out because of the tranny xmember, but if i were to take that out it would be laying flat
and quite possibly the sickest die cast out there right now!
i will be building a frame from the firewall back out of 2x4 box tubing...keep your eyes open
