CUSTOM HEADLIGHTS

I original saw these on clearcorners.com for the 240sx. I loved the way it looked on the car but there was no way I was going to pay $2000 when that could be invested in a new motor swap.

LeashDragon's 1990 Nissan 240SXI looked around and came across some ralli Corolla headlights. This ran me about 80 shipped and worked perfect since they can be easily removed from the back with a few nuts. And good part is that this was a direct plug in, only thing I had to do is just swap the plug between the highbeams and lowbeams (which uses the same type of plug). I paid just about 75 shipped for these on ebay. There are some similar hella projectors avaliable but they will run you about $50 each and an extra 20 for each wiring [(50x4)+(20x4)+shipping= Im sure you get the point].

Now getting these to fit inside the headlight I had to do bit or trimming. Removed the black housing cover and headlight bulb. I have a diagram of where a trimmed. Becareful to not damaged the holes for the original lamp. This is if you decided that you want to change the headlights back you can.

Now right along the side you'll see the arm that lifts and lowered the headlights. Since the light rotate in a 360, you will need to loosen the bolt attaching it to the motor and adjust the height of it. Tighten it after you found the height that works for you. This is how you will get the sleepy eye look as well.

LeashDragon's 1990 Nissan 240SXSorry I don't have more pictures of what I did to make this (pictures were lost in the transfer). I used some strips of strong metal I found in my garage(needed to use a bolt cutter to cut them), and also some L brackets to help support the headlights up to the right level of projection. You will need to bend and tweek them to get the right height and level. This stadge you will need to fiddle around with different things. I saved money by using what I had, you can look around at your local hardware store and you might find something that works better then what I fabricated, but the materials that I used shouldn't run you more than $10. The way I fabricated these allowed me to use the original holes from the oem lights. I didn't do any welding or gluing, just use the metal strips, a drill, and stop nuts and bolts. I also replaced the oem spring with a ziptie after installing them.

Some Tips to think about:
-I recommend replacing the bulbs with brighter ones.
-You can change burnt out bulbs just by taking the top cover off the headlights instead of trying to removed all the hardware you just installed.
-Before you install the lights for good, replace the original bolts on the headlights with stop nuts. I recommend that if you use any nuts, to go with stop nuts to prevent them from falling off.

Nice s13, the paint is spectacular. I think i have seen your 240 about orange county. That wing stands out like a mofo. I am sure it was at autobacks or occ hah. Anyhow good luck on the project. Mine was off to a rocky start with a bent control arm, but all in all it was a great deal. My buddies and i go to the canyon and autox, ounce you get yours dialed in lets go, laters.
