SuperDC3's 1939 Ford El Camino A couple of oldtimers get together. B-17 Sentimental Journey visited the BC Aviation Museum in the fall of 2004 and I just couldn't resist.

SuperDC3's 1939 Ford El Camino The '39 rolls out in February 2005.

SuperDC3's 1939 Ford El Camino Note the add-on turn signals and water temp guage. Flatheads are famous for boiling over, but I haven't had any problems.

SuperDC3's 1939 Ford El Camino Smile!

SuperDC3's 1939 Ford El Camino Dual exhausts with Smittys give this car a luscious rumble. Its hard to believe we're only talking 85 horses (buts loads of bottom end torque).

SuperDC3's 1939 Ford El Camino A couple of changes. The alternator is from a 1980 Honda Civic. 6 volts is fine except when it comes to lighting. This car's headlights are great at night.

SuperDC3's 1939 Ford El Camino Speaking of night action...

SuperDC3's 1939 Ford El Camino Next project - 1965 Lincoln convertible.

Nice car! Nice pics with the B-17 too! Great idea! My Dad was a B-17 navigator (Hell's Angels, Sacktime) with the 303rd Bombgroup. He flew 35 combat missions mostly over Nazi Germany. He had a '39 Fordor Deluxe before going to Europe and it was waiting for him when he came home. He said thinking about driving it again got him through his tour of duty. The '39 took nearly 18 years to restore but I just picked it up this weekend. I love it. I'd like to talk more with you about our mutual interests. I'm interested in the history of your car and project.

I love the '39's. Like to have one of my own someday, but that will have to wait until I'm out of college, and probably even longer. Hopefully there will still be gas around so I can run the flathead. But with their low compression, It might run on whatever crap they have then. My Grandpa had a '39 Tudor back in the 50's, I wonder what happened to it.
