68toro97blazer's 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado

Hi, my name is Steve. I am 19 years old and I presently own a 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado. It is black with a black interior. After two years of restoration, the car is a new car again. Purchased from the original owner in Maryland, I knew at first sight this car had potential. The car had basically no rust. The only downside was that it had not run in ten years and it had been in a small fire. I was up for the challenge!

I got my first Toro from a family friend when I was 15. It took me a year to restore it to almost completion, but unfortunatley, three weeks after it was put on the road, it had an electrical fire, and totaled the car. I stripped it as much as was possible and bought the Toro I have today!

I just finished this Toro in late August of 2004, and entered it into two car shows, winning awards at both. My first show, Adirondack Nationals in Lake George, New York, I received Favorite Classic. My second show, Bennington Auto Show, in Vermont, I received First place in my class.

Sweet Toro. You know about interior electrical fires with these cars? Is the problem solved by eliminating a direct current even when the power is off?
