1986 Toyota MR2 AW11
Engine: 4AGE

I got this car on 3/8/04, a few weeks before my 17th birthday. I had wanted an MR2 AW11 for over a year before I got it and I worked hard to get a job and save money to acquire my dream car as my first car. It almost seems like my life didn't start until I got this car because all I could think about my whole Junior year of high school was getting an MR2 until I finally got one.
Needless to say, I am glad I got the car and I love just about everything about it. The car is even more fun than I could have ever imagined.

Part's I've recently received and am waiting to install:
1. Russell Stainless steel brake lines
2. OEM front brake pads, Porterfield R4-S rear pads
3. TRD 4-2-1 Header ceramic coated by Jet-hot

Engine Mods:
1.Custom made 'Pho-spec' short ram intake with Hawker Odyssey PC680 battery. The battery weighs only 15 lbs, and I got the intake to move the filter out from under the engine lid vent where it always got wet from rain. Plus the air is probably a little cooler down there :P I had to cut some metal out of the battery mounting surface and install this battery to fit the intake.

2.Custom Magnaflow 2.25" cat-back exhaust: I wanted a smaller exhaust system with a small coffee can style muffler coming out the left but I couldn't get a muffler small enough to fit and look good so I just put a standard Magnaflow muffler in the same position as the stock muffler (sideways) and made the tip come out at the stock position as well. It's a Morflow high flow cat with a Magnaflow muffler. I was very pleased by the sound I got but I didn't notice any increase in power. 86MR2Fast2Catch's 1986 Toyota MR2

Suspension Mods:
1. 15x6.5 Rota Slipstream wheels (11.8 lbs each)
I first saw these rims on another red MR2 and fell in love. The ones I saw were royal gun metal (metal black with chrome lip) which was what I wanted but I couldn't find that color scheme for the 15's unless I ordered them online. I settled for Flat black and I'm very happy with the color. I'd never change it to any color, I love the look of black rims, especially on a red car. 86MR2Fast2Catch's 1986 Toyota MR2
2. 205-50-15 Falken Azenis Sports
The combined cost of my tires were only $100 less than the rims, and my tires are my favorite mod I've done to the car so far. Which is why I put Falken decals on my windows :P Compared to my stock 14's with Continental tires, I no longer chirp when shifting hard into 2nd gear, I am yet to oversteer, and I can no longer do a burnout! My car is so much faster while cornering with these tires because my old 14" tires had almost no traction when cornering hard. My only disapointment is that I can't drag launch the car anymore. With my old tires I could launch the car very fast thanks to the mide-engine rear wheel drive layout of the car. Now, I can barely take advantage of that because my clutch isn't strong enough for my to drop the clutch higher than about 4k RPM's. This will soon be fixed with the addition of an ACT clutch. Still, I think that these tires were the best $300 I ever spent! 86MR2Fast2Catch's 1986 Toyota MR2

3.Suspension Techniques springs (1.3 inch drop)and Tokico Illumina (5-way adjustable) Struts. The car handles AWESOME with these and when I went to my first Autox event in May, I spun out on my first run with the shocks set to 4. So after that I set the rear shocks to 3 (one setting softer) and the car was a little more forgiving. Great investment!

4. A Cusco rear strut bar - pics coming soon.
5. Suspension Techniqes Sway Bars - awesome investment, these made a huge difference in the handling, I have them set to medium-front and stiff-rear right now.

Interior Mods:
-Sparco Speed Seat with Sparco 4 point harness
I made custom mounting brackets'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">mounting brackets for the seat (what a pain, I wish had a welder) and a custom harness bar for the harness. The seat is very comfortable and holds me in well. The harness is a 3" competition harness from Sparco with the camlock style lock that all 4 belts come together at.

Exterior Mods:
1. Clear front turn signal lenses - I got these off ebay for 29.99 and I can't believe how much better my car looks from the front by simply replacing the stock orange lenses with clear ones!

Nice ride, you've done a great job. Can you tell me what brand your clear front marker lenses are? I have been looking for them for avery long time.
