GRAND NATIONAL 8.5 REAR
POSI
Came up on a sweet deal looking thru ebay. I had been searching for an 8.5 posi rear for a while, and saw this beauty just screaming to come home with me. $600 bucks and a road trip, and she was mine. it has been sand blasted and treated with POR-15 . Looks brand spankin new! The drums barely have any use on em, and it even has the emergency brake cable attached. A sweet deal
I ordered a TA Performance rear girdle cover to help strengthen up the G Nat rear. I also picked up some stronger studs bolts and will be running some Amsoil SEVERE GEAR® Synthetic Extreme Pressure (EP) Lubricant 75W-90 and AMSOIL Slip Lock™ Differential Additive . I got the "Low Profile" setup just in case I'd run into some clearance issues with the Hotchkis rear sway setup.

Here's some really sweet instructions on how to properly install and torque the TA Performance rear girdle.

AC DELETE
Since Im gonna go with a Vintage air AC/heat setup, I decided to take all the ac ducting and box out. The shop made a quick lil ac delete panel for me...
Rubber Grommet for the 4 gauge wiring.
Painted it right quick...
She got some good head ers
Please scuse' the dust...
Battery tray is mounted
Another view of the Motor
All wiring is being ran inside the fenders for a cleaner look..
Steering column has been fixed and installed as well as the B&M Floor Quicksilver Floor shifter..New Wiring harnes and complete rewire frim front to rear is just about done
Gas tank Project
Found a sweet gas tank on ebay. It has a lower section welded in the rear and 2 gass line fittings. This will be beneficial when I punch it hard. I wont have to worry about starving the carb since the gas is fed from the lowest section of the tank. It needs some work as you can see from the pics. Im gonna have it cleaned up, re-welded and pressure tested. Then its off to powdercoat it black...
UPDATES
Found out that the old shop installed the wrong oil pan pickup, and did a shoddy job of welding it. Waiting on the correct pickup for my Milodon pan to arrive. Then we can prime the motor and crank it. This has bee a HUGE headache with this car!! LOL! !
