THIS IS GONNA LOOK SO CLEAN WITH THE BLUE GAUGES LIT UP. I HAVE ANOTHER BEZEL IM WORKIN ON. WILL POST PICS SS OON

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROJECT
Getting my parts together to rebuild the gauge cluster. Cut 2 2/16 " holes to house 2 extra digital gauges
Click pic below for link to info on gauges

The nics and gouges will be filled, and the entire part sanded and sprayed with black SEM paint or Krylon Fuzion plastic paint. The red striping will be painted also

The inside top part of this black gauge holder below will have a #3 and a Chevy flag in dark grey and black . I dont want it to jump out, but when you see the gauges, you will get a lil glimpse of it. There will be a red "SS " in the center of the poliished panel

You can see where Im goin with this project. This bezel is from an older Monte Carlo and will need some trimming to fit properly

You can see where it will need to be trimmed around the gauge on the left. A little Dremmel action will fix that

Shop was test fitting the digital panel. I could see how bad the panel glass was .

So I decided to take the glass and polish it up a little. I used some 3m plastic polish and some Meguiar's Plastx polish. Came out clean

As you can see I sanded the gauge holder. I also made some templates and cut some carbon fiber to place behind the glass

Test fit

Added the polished panel. It still need to be pinstriped tho. Just wanted to see how it looked..

Painted inside the panel holder a flat black. I also removed all the factory lighting. All I want to shine thru is the Dakota Digital blue LED's. I had to trim down a little plastic so the gauge panel would sit flush. I smoothed the ruff plastic also so it wouldnt scratch the panel.

I trimmed behind the panel that sits over the gauges. This way the panel sits flush on top of the gauges..

Now the cover sits flush on the panel..
