MONTE CARLO SS

Motor is in!!!! GM Performance H.O. 350 deluxe . 330 horses . I have a B&M 700r4 trans , B&M 2400 Holeshot stall converter, Doug's ceramic coated headers, B&M Hitek super trans cooler, Dual electric fans and aluminum radiator on the way. The exhaust will be a ssweet combo setup from Pypes exhaust and Flowmaster Super 44 . They have a nice x-pipe setup that lets you open your headers from the dash. Nuff talk.. Here's the pics...

Engine bay is dusty from sitting around outside. I'm glad I detailed that bay while waiting on it. Looks waaay better!!

*Battery box feelin right at home *

Trans cooler lines

Snapped a pic of my polished trans cooler and lines ran. This came out really clean. You cant see the brackets made. When its time for paint, I'll have the nose apart and get better photos for you guys.. .

Radiator plate extension

This really cleans up the two open holes on each side of the radiator core support(like in the pic above ). Test fitting em before they get powder coated or chromed. The support will be torn down and sent out to be powder coated as well. Should look ssweet with the high polished radiator cover and polidhed top plate.. ..

Got a lil project goin on. I looked around ebay for a "breadbox", a armrest console and some sort of panel. The bread box or ashtray box is from the earlier Montes. Found this...

I'm really happy about the outcome of the panel...I didnt go digital with the gauges cuz I wanted something in the SS' interior to have a classic "muscle car" look/feel to it.

 Gauges Mounted

Mounted (2) 2 5/8" Auto meter Oil temp gauge and Trans temp gauge(electric). I didnt go digital here cuz I wanted something in the car to have that classic muscle car look to it. .

Quick vid of the parts...

I picked this console up for dirt cheap. I'll work on it in my spare time until I get the desired look...Krylon has a new plastic paint that will get the job done. I think its called "Fuzion "

Assembling the parts..
UPDATE
DID SOME MORE WORK ON THE ARMREST CONSOLE. MOCKED THE PARTS UP...
DID A LITTLE LIGHT SANDING
CUT THE HOLE FOR THE ELECTRONIC CUTOUT SWITCH. YOU CAN SEE HOW THE PINSTRIPE WILL LINE UP WITH THE PINSTRIPE ON THE BLACK SHIFT PLATE
SWITCH IS MOUNTED. ITS A LITTLE OFF, BUT ITS OK. DID THIS AT 3AM.
Also prepping to cut hole for my Epicenter's knob
GETTING IT PREPPED FOR THE KRYLON..
USED THE SCOTCH PAD TO BREAK UP ANY LOOSE DIRT AND OIL .
SQUEAKY CLEAN.  I PAT DRIED IT WITH A NEW MICRO FIBER TOWEL AND LET AIR DRY FOR 20 MINUTES...YOU CAN SEE I PLAYED AROUND WITH PINSTRIPING IT SILVER. WANTED TO GET SOME SPRAY STROKE PRACTICE IN
AFTER 20 MINUTES OF DRYING IN THE SUN, THE SURFACE IS NICE AND DRY--AND WARM. THIS WILL AID IN HELPING THE KRYLON BOND TO THE PLASTIC .
NEXT STEP WAS TO CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH "AUTO PREP". THIS STRIPS ANY LEFT OVER OILS AFTER I WASHED IT. "

NOW SPRAY A LIGHT COAT OF ADHESION PROMOTER AND LET SIT FOR A "FLASH TIME" OF 5 MINUTES.  THEN SPRAY A WET COAT AND LET SIT FOR NO MORE THAN 20 MINUTES OF "FLASH TIME.

AFTER 15 MINUTES, I SPRAYED THE FIRST COAT OF KRYLON. I LIKE A NICE SHINE, BUT MAY GO WITH THE SATIN. THIS IS ALL PRACTICE FOR ME..

Gonna tape off the sides of the shift plate base and sand the shiny plastic paint off the center. I'll use SATIN black instead. Lopoks nice to me, but it will scratch to easily.. This is all practice

Thumpin1ohm's 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

THE ARM REST PAD WILL BE DONE IN BLACK LEATHER WITH SILVER PIPING

THE ARM REST BASE WILL CONTINUE THE SILVER LINE CREATED BY THE PIPING ON THE PADS EDGE. THIS SHOULD LOOK SSWEET. LIL DETAILS..I HOPE I'M EXPLAINING THIS WHERE YOU GUYS CAN SEE WHAT I MEAN. I'LL PROBABLY DRAW SOMETHING UP..
