I finally got an intake and put it on a couple days ago. It was intended for a honda civic but by looking at it i could tell it would fit with only a few modifications. it had to be cut about 3 inches shorter. it turned out real well, the car sounds alot better too!
birdman1016's 1992 Chevrolet Lumina I had to use some hose to connect the vacume lines to the intake.birdman1016's 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
i also had to drill a hole for the IAT sensor at the bottom front end of the intake but it was really stright forward.

overall i think it looks good, all i have to do now is make a heat sheild out of sheet metal to keep the intake air cool.

Cam: nice idea with the battery, never occured to me to move, mine is in the same place....would provided better balance for cone racing as well. We are enjoying a very mild fall so far, setting records with 65/70 degree days. Ohio sounds cold! Keep the 'domain posted as to your mods. dw

OOps...computer skipped a breath.. any how it runs to the front valence where cool air is rammed straight into the into the ducting and fired right into the K&N. Incredible throttle response was what I first noticed and remove the baffle found in the entrance to the throttle body. The baffle slows down the intake charge and its primary job is to tone down the sound of the air flow. The air box was then covered with heat reflective tape to keep the box cool. Prior to this mod the air box was so hot it would burn your hands. Even after long highway runs that box is now warm to the touch not super hot.

If you look on page 3 or 4 of my site you can see the intake duct work...expand the picture for a better view. You could build yourself a box for your cone filter (mod your stock airbox) and feed cool air in from the front valence. Just a thought. dw

I saw your intake and the first thought that came to mind was to put in a "poor mans ram air" as I did. It looks like the large space where now resides your intake plumbing and cone filter...used to be an air box very similar to my 98 Monte. It came to me when I modded mine that there is still large amounts of hot air getting into that filter even if you had a heat shield. What I did was that I lopped off the stock air box intake plumbing sealed it from inside and cut a four inch hole in the bottom of my air box. So if you took the top of the air box off, removed the filter, you can see the ground beneath the car. I then plumbed a 50" length X 4" wide aluminum heat riser ducting (any automotive shop carries this stuff) straight down out of the air box....once it cleared brake lines and the rad. hose, a gradual 90 degree bend ( for better air flow)takes it straight to the front valence

WOW man.. I can't believe the shape it was in when you got it. You did a lot of work and it sure shows. Awesome job!! Dude, we're gonna have to talk when it comes time for me to replace my front fender. No idea how to take it off.I also am going to get my car repainted but I'm not sure when that'll happen, I think about 1.5years from now. anyways, sa-weet ride!! Thanks for the comments, see ya around the forum!

Hi: Thanks for the comment! Nice euro 3.4 you have there. My car came with the 3.4 from the factory and i swapped in a new 3.4 becuase the old one was toasted. I did switch gauge clusters. My car originally had an anolog cluster that redlined at 8, but swapped in the digital dash which has a redline at 7. Its fun to bring the car into the "redline" now though...
