I bought this car back in May of 2002 with the idea that this would be my daily driver plus a good warranty, that idea went out the door shorty after it reached my driveway. I liked the look of the car but knew it needed something more.

First thing I did was install an underdrive crank pulley provided by Mastercard and Unorthodox Racing. This took out any low end bog there was to take off. Next was helping the engine breathe better so a CAI was purchased, OBX header installed, and a custom mandrel bent exhaust mounted. I just relocated my battery to the trunk for better routing for my intake, it is now a good fit down into the fender. A Fidanza adjustable cam sprocket has my cams advanced by 4 deg. As we know on a car, lighter is better most of the time, so a Fidanza flywheel chopped 12lbs from the crank to let the engine rev better, XTD pressure plate and ACT 6 puc disc are now holding on to things for me.

I have been pretty fortunate thus far with my car, as of two years ago I knew nothing about the working parts of an engine. Since I purchased this car I have done all the work on my own, I would rather get mad at myself should something go terribly wrong. I think the toughest part for me would have been my clutch and flywheel install, I was so worried that my car wouldn't move afterwards. Recently I replaced my thrust and connecting rod bearings...A certain company did an oil change for me and didnt put any oil into my engine...they also refused to cover the parts for repair! Heres what my #2 connecting rod bearings looked like.

Than I swapped the rear sway bar, my OEM 15mm bar for a 19.2mm Tiburon GT bar. This was a straight Hyundai replacement part so kudos to them for making a decent swapable part. I also swapped out the stock plastic endlinks for metal ones. The wheels went also for a set of 18" Momo X1 rims.

Next I tackled the interior, black dash, than blue and black tweed applied to the doors and center console. A Momo steering wheel replaced the OEM wheel, and a set of Ractive racing seats installed. I have installed an APEX'1 NA/turbo timer, with the use of a dedicated wideband o2 sensor the timer is used to monitor A/F ratios, again thanks Hyundai for using good parts.

My car is setup to be fun to drive, not really loud. Starting with a Clarion VRX765VD multimedia player, the front is filled in by a 2 channel Coustic Audio amp running a set of Alpine Type X 6.5" components. A set of Alpine Type R 6.5" components sit in the rear stock mount.
