Today was a busy day. Installed a blue LED toggle switch for my amp in my trucks power point next to the ashtray. This took a little time due to the fact it wasnt a very good fit at first. Although I think it turned out great. The door still opens and closes, and makes for a hidden switch.
I took out the back carpeting and installed some sound dead insulation first before mounting the subs & amp. Since its a standard cab, it leaves very little room for any kind of box.
It sounds great! The sound dead works like a charm. No rattling or anything, just bass! There are 2 12" Dual subs (1100 watts total), 2 10" Dual subs (800 watts total), being powered by a 1200 watt Sony Xplod amp.
O.K. Scrap the 12" subs, and the Sony amp! Not getting the sound I was hoping for. Heres a better idea!
How about a custom made box to fit a Ford Ranger reg. cab truck. Built by yours truly, with help from my pop, out of 3/4" MDF. This was a trick. Alot of angles in this due to the fact, well, its a standard cab truck. Cant have a box without some sub-woofers can we? Hell no!!!
So how about 3- 10" Audiobahn Special Edition Subs (600 watts each) w/ Special Edition DUB grills!!! (AW1051SE) To power them we installed 2- 480 watt Pyramid Amps. Added a noen tube to the bottom of the box and, Viola!!! Instant bass like a mother, well you know the rest!!!
