hello,
you've stumbled upon my page for my ae85 corolla. i just bought her yesterday(feb 08) and haven't got any pics up yet. i just got through getting it registered in my name. it's in great shape, with very little rust on the passenger side b-pillar, good trans, new clutch, clean-ish interior, and a (one) new tire. the 4a-c engine is blown which is why i got it for $250 from a guy i know. already got a lead on a replacement 4a-ge for another $250, so that should be fun.
in the mean time, i need to find a good price on an ecu and harness for the new engine and pick up 3 more tires since the others are corded(the guy who used to own it was a drifter too) and some steel wheels for now just so i can keep them the same size. right now it's running two different 13's in the front, with a 14 and 15 in the rear.
i'm gonna try to set her up as a drifter/auto x racer that i can still drive every day. i'll be shootin' for about 140-150 horses to the ground, try to reduce the weight by getting rid of the back seat, and installing an lsd. still kinda undecided as to which manufacturer's parts i'm gonna use, plus i'm on a pretty sorry budget, so any help would be apprieciated.
if your not too busy, go check out my current whip, a '78 olds royale (i put myself in my friends list so you can check it out.)that's all i got for now. i'm off tomorrow so i'll go get some pics of it and try to do some more shopping. laters.
UPDATE 02/11/05
looks like my new engine is a 4a-ge, but it's out of a '89 FWD corolla. i've heard of some people doing this swap, but i wasn't sure if i could mount this engine to the RWD ae85 manual transmission. i also found the harness and ecu for that engine on ebay. if anyone of you fellow '86 drivers out there could help me out, i'd apprieciate it. thanks.
