Brakes
I am something if a safety nut. The chassis and cage had to be well designed and constructed and the brakes were a primary concern during the design of the car.
We wanted safety and braking performance, but did not want to gain a lot of weight in the process.
The calipers are from DPI and are 4 piston billet aluminum jobs. They are light, strong and reliable.
Rotors are from Coleman, again, a well established name in the racing industry. The rotors are directional vaned units, 12.875 DIA. The rotors have gas vents added, but these are not very necessary for street use.
Here is a shot of the caliper and spindle assembly in a raw wheel.
The rear brakes are stock Jag units that have been slightly modified (cross drilled). Another benefit of the Jag rear is that the parking brake system uses a pair of separate, manual activation calipers. This does add a bit of weight, but it is all sprung weight and in the rear of the car, so less of an issue in this case.
