For the speakers for my Camaro- something light weight. Probably all neodymium motors and use a set of one-off frames out of billet aluminum. Actually a stamped metal frame would be lighter, but hey- how cool is that? Probably 4? drivers, maybe with a threaded OD so that I can make a mount that they actually screw into so that the mounting flange can be as small as possible. Not sure about that; I have several ideas in mind. The tweeters will certainly be Vifa units. I designed the process and all the machinery that make the Vifa Logic and Ring radiator tweeters, so I know how consistent they are. I just do not feel like making a prototype set of one off tweeters as they are very difficult to get right if you are only making a couple. One thing for sure is that I will have a nice enclosure for the mids to go into to get my system tuning where I want it. Likely do most of the parts and even the cabinet out of 6061 or 7075 aluminum. The 7075 is listed here in China and we have to get on a wait list to purchase it, but we have some extra in the shop now and it may end up "lost". ;)
Woofer- I am not sure, but I have a couple of options. Probably be a 10? driver as the space limitations are well constrained. One idea is to do a very large VC driver with a multi-magnet motor. Like a 8? voice coil and roughly 35mm Xmax. Maybe use 15 neo magnets around the perimeter or something like that. It will work and I have the CAD stuff on that already
Another idea is to do a loaded system with an inverse motor arrangement. Maybe a pair of 8? drivers in that case. Other ideas include a linear array transducer or perhaps a moving magnet driver- the woofer is going to be easier since I only have to make a couple of them.

Before anyone asks how I plan to do this, I suppose I should mention that I am the owner of a design and engineering service company for the audio industry. Our company does development, prototyping, QA/QC and ongoing client services for a number of players in the business. We also support manufacturing companies by designing and building very high end assembly machines and systems.
