UPDATED!!! 17APRIL2007Finally bought a few things for it. I got a new Lunati VooDoo cam/lifter kit to fix the engine. An MSD 6AL to replace the 6A, this way I don't over rev it again and break more stuff. I got another 2004R tranny from an 87 Monte SS. I also have all the GN internals, boost valves, servo, etc to help it out in the shifting department. Still won't last long though. I also got the locker unit for the Ford 9 inch rear so I can throw that in. Maybe by the fall I'll have all this done and can post some video, track times of it.

UPDATED!!! 06JUNE2006 Well, I finally have a little time to add the updates to this site. I moved the pages around some and added some more pictures. CHECK IT OUT and RATE ME UP!! Leave some feedback in my message book. Also hop over to my 1979 Malibu Wagon site in my profile. I think you'll dig it!

UPDATED!!! 24MAY2006 Haven't updated this page in a while. I haven't driven the car in 2 years. With cash issues, military deployments, and a new baby the Elky kinda got put on the back burner. But..., I have a narrowed Ford 9 inch rear w/ backbrace, 31 spline axles, 4.10 gears, no posi yet. It will get put in this summer.

Since I bought a wideband o2 sensor for the wagon, (check my other cardomain site), I'll be using it to tune the big 'ol Holley on this car. Then I'll take it to the track and see if the tranny gives out on me!

This is my 1978 El Camino SS. It is arctic white with sunrise red stripes and sunset red pearlcoat. It IS an original SS, with all the options. The original 350/ 4bbl is sitting on my garage floor. It now sports a 460 CID Big Block chevy making 600+ horsepower. There is a 200-4r trans behind that engine. In the works is a narrowed Ford 9 inch, just have to finish it.

Here is a shot from the 2001 Wildwood, NJ classic car show.

Looks good, liquidh8! It's nice to see someone else besides me knows that the A6 compressor common on G-bodies works with the older big block A/C brackets. I'm keeping my A/C too. LS6 Tommy
