Autocross 11/30/2008- Man, unlike the Autocrosses with the Firebird, I actually ranked pretty well on this one, despite the fact that I took this SC2 to it instead of the Firebird. I was tired of getting crappy ranks so I thought the short wheelbase SC2 could do well in the small turns with its small size. I also figured that I shouldn't take the Firebird this time of the year, not to mention at that time the Firebird was in the process of being put into storage.

Here was my competetion, a bunch of import 4 bangers and a few other exceptions, but nothing too crazy.

My SC2 in the line, with my friend's Honda Accord V-6 just in front of me. His network name is 'TurboLence'

There were more cars than what was in the pictures, and the total number of cars running in that event was 15, I placed 4th. Yes, I guess you can say I am bragging, but I am not really a fast driver with this Saturn, so to do so well in this car against so many other cars that are more powerful and what-not, shocked me. I guess this Saturn has more performance potential than I thought. My method of driving is to take off in 'D', and then put the automatic transaxle (sadly, not a stick) in 'D2', or just plain old '2' for some people out there for the rest of the run, so I didn't have too much power, plus the engine was running really hot (almost to the red-zone on the coolant temperature gauge), so I couldn't go very fast. I couldn't have the power of first, but I am going to experiment with the clutch relays to see what I can find, don't worry, I'll be good to the car and be safe at the same time. Anyways, that was loads of fun, seeing what my Saturn/daily driver could do in terms of performance/handling, and I will probably bring my fun Brianna to the next Autocross event to get the hang of front wheel drive once again. I never really drove this Saturn like that since I've owned it, so the good handling really caught me by surprise. Man, I am pleased with that car, I'm going to keep this car for a very long time, but only time will tell.

My SC2 was actually in a car show, in June of 2006, it was in the NHSN (Nashua High School North) car show, but that was because I was completely stupid and locked my keys in my car, and then when I unlocked the car, I decided to show it off, despite some ricerboy dumping on it. Man, sometimes I would like to warp back into time to smack that kid around, and then proceed to beat the crap out of his car for existing. New notes are bold.

Super1994SC's 1994 Saturn SC-Series This photograph was taken on 10/31/2008, and the only 'surgery marks' are where the front quarterpanels bolt to the upper-front bumper. They cracked in the crash, but the paint was still flawless. So, sadly, to save money, I put them back on, but not after I put some epoxy to seal the crack. Well, boy was I wrong, the cold 30-ish degree weather cracked them again, and now that I think of it, it's not too bad. Whenever I have some time, I will get a set of used front quarterpanels, and then sand/paint them myself. That would be a fun learning process. I mean, the least I can do is get them 100% ready for paint, so all I am doing is just the last step.

Super1994SC's 1994 Saturn SC-Series Now that's Brianna's true hotness. An old picture of her in the summer, right after a nice washing. And damn do those rims look so.. Sassy! That picture still amazes me to this day as one of the cleanest pictures of that car, and that was before I replaced the faded 1994 gray lug nut caps with the shiny black ones.
I love driving in a clean car like this, but what's the point if you're going to wash a car in the winter if it's just going to get salty all over again?
I wish my car has been in a car show, but I haven't seen one in a while (New England's winters suck.)

...so here's a few of my friends:

Super1994SC's 1994 Saturn SC-SeriesTravis W. has a pretty new 2005 Honda Accord V-6, 5 speed automatic transaxle, and he autocrossed it once, but I am hoping that before November of this year comes to a close, that will change. He had fun running it, and he is looking to run it again. Definately a sophisticated car from its older versions, but then again he has pretty much the fully loaded model, so it has a lot of cool options and features. Super1994SC's 1994 Saturn SC-SeriesCraig H. car domain name n00b_at_life , has a red 1994 Subaru SVX, all wheel drive boxer 6 cylinder, automatic transmission. Sadly, from what it sounds like, he won't be hanging on to this car for long, due to a few things that went wrong with it. Don't really know at this point. Photo courtesy of Craig's Cardomain site.

hey you dont have to be afraid of the dif pin blowing because of slippage in the snow i have owned 2 saturns one 91sl2 with a/t and my current 95sl2 m/t and neither dif pins have blown and both engines and transmisions currently have well over 100k on them and i have put both cars through numerous newengland icy snowy winters and i love how yours is coming out 5stars hope this helps just dont do burn outs since the wheels are slipping and spinning under extreme friction and drag and that is what causes the dif pin to blow, it is too much force for it to handle my plans are to upgrade my dif to a limited slip from quaife differentials.

No i never did burn outs....it was more of just driving like an idiot.....the diff pin has a mind of it own. I have seen grandma-driven saturns with the diff pin out. As for snow im hoping mine last through the winter here. we just got a blizzard last week and the roads have been terrible

yeah it was like a gun shot went off under me......then a lot of metal hitting the ground, and after all that a lot of cussing. do not do burn outs at all in your car!
