It took me a while to decide on a new color for Blue... Don't get me wrong, I loved the original blue, it was just started to fade and was scratched to hell on the side from countless close calls and trees. I thought maybe a military theme considering I was now in the Navy, but that was a little too corny. A real paint job was out of the question for a mud toy so I found and researched truck bed liners. A company named Durabak made a UV resistant ORANGE bed liner that would be perfect for a UF Jeep! So here it is, in all it's glory from beginning to finished product...
So, after 51 days of non-stop work, I am in love with my "new" Jeep! It drives like my dads 97 TJ but with a lot more torque and a much better sound ;) When the throttles opened it sounds like a turbo diesel exhaust, all from my little 6 cylinder.
Before the paint was even dry, my dad and I took the inaugural cruise to a local bar and the folks couldn't keep their hands off her, literally! Everyone is amazed at the texture and how "different" it is. Hey, with a bright orange Jeep and a Mack Bulldog hood ornament, ya can't help but get some good looks!
